When the weather outside becomes cool enough to wear a jacket, I tend to retreat into my warm house and much like Mole... enjoy my little home in the woods... albeit mine is above ground.
So, I took my camera and snapped some pictures of my surroundings as of October 1st. Time for steamy hot drinks and warm throws and soups and stews and homemade bread and candles and everything cozy... including a cat who does not want to be disturbed. :)
Of course, a house is not a home without a furry member...

So cozy...Victoria looks so comfortable in the blankets.
It must be that women across the country, around the world, at least those in the northern hemisphere, are busy cozying up their homes. Now I wonder what's in the crockpot. ;>
I LOVE your post today, Brenda! It's feeling very "fallish" here as well, and thoughts turn toward cozy things. Of all the pictures, the last one is my favorite! I don't think there's anything cozier than seeing a kitty all curled up in a blanket (even better if it is purring!) My second favorite is the chair next to the bookshelf brimming with favorite books waiting to be read! Now, I think I'm in the mood for chili and cornbread...

Love all the touches of "fall" . Looks so cozy and restful. Just my kind of room with all the books and warm throw on the sofa. I agree with Joy--chili sounds good.
Blessings, Sharon D.
Thanks for sharing all the photos! Love your bookshelves filled with books! Noticed Susan Branch's Autumn cookbook, too.I just got that one, too!Love it!! The basket with balls of yarn and the kitty curled up on the couch really adds a cozy touch, too. Fall is the time of year I get a hankering to get creative and want to do some kind of handwork and snuggle under an afghan, with a hot cup of tea and good book next to a sleeping kitty! :) Wonderful post!
Blessings to you,
Laura C.
You have me inspired - time to put away summer's blues and bring out autumn's orange.
I'm an Aussie transposed to Canada where the 'fall' has begun in all its beauty, but unlike you, I don't yearn for it. Wide open blue sky and deserted beaches to wander are my home, and 'fall' is just the beginning of an ending...always makes me a little sad. Mercifully, there is the fireplace, and shelves of good books and the lovely tradition of thanksgiving...so it's true - 'His mercies are new every morning.'
Love the cozy corner with the full bookcases and comfy couch. Great place to burrow in for the winter.
Victoria's got the right idea. Give her a pat from us.
I resisted admitting that it was already autumn, but now, it's too too clear that it is. And I love this time of year. Have not done much fixing up yet and leave home on Saturday and won't be back until the 15th or so....I think I'll play around with my hutch cupboard tomorrow......I also am making two pillowcases for my granddaughters and gathering things for Sofia's desired jell fish costume for Halloween! (There are some cute do-it-youself ideas online and we already ordered an umbrella hat for only $3.97.)
Your house is getting a very nice cozy mole like feeling. Wind in the Windows is one of my favorite books and the Dulce Domum chapter perhaps my favorite part of the book. Who can resist? Not I.
I like seeing all your bookcases in Christopher's old room as well as elsewhere!
You are ahead of me I have not started to decorate yet. Love the peaceful look and YES the cat is very cozy.
So cozy...am loving all the books, the comfy chair and especially love the furry creature!
We are having a heat wave this week (in the 90's and 100's in some places) thus am envious of your autumn w
"jacket" weather!
Love,

Sweet and cozy. Fall is a time to turn homeward, indoors rather than out, cozy rather than adventuresome.
Lovely!
I love this time of year and being cozy in the house is one of the reasons why!
Your blue chair looks very comfortable!

Love the title of your post :)
I always enjoy seeing photos of your cozy home.
I'm not quite there with you...yet. We have cool mornings and by cool I'm mean 50's LOL. The afternoons are still in the 80's which feels heavenly after the blistering hot summer temps. This is the best time to be outside! So soon-maybe another month or so if we have an early winter.
Victoria looks very cozy!
"Mole-ish"! That would be ME, too :)
The comforts of your home would make it easy for ANYone to be "mole-ish".
