All because he moved the speakers...

Thank you for the comments about the new "November" header. I also loved this picture, so much that I decided it needed to be the star of the show for awhile. My neighbor collects old trucks about the way I collect teacups. I don't know where this one came from but it looked lovely against the background of autumn leaves last week. It is still there but the leaves are now on the ground. :)

After two rather deep pondering posts, I thought I'd just show you a change I made in the living room after arriving home from our New England trip. The change came about by two events, one being the "bringing in" of houseplants from the porch (before they froze their giblets) and the other was more unexpected... arriving home to find the CD player and speakers had been moved to the family room.

This all came about when one of the homeschool Dads who had attended C.'s LAN party noticed we weren't using our speakers. The CD player hadn't worked quite right since it had to stay in a hot storage unit when we moved back from "The Pond" years ago. He told Christopher that it was "a shame" to waste such powerful speakers so he hooked them up to the TV in the family room... giving us the delightful bass sound that shakes the house... the guys love the surround sound. You haven't lived until you watched the Chicago Bulls play in surround...

Remind me not to leave home again until Christopher moves away... far away. :)

I wasn't sure this plant stand would work here but I'm very pleased with the results. It may not make it back to the porch next spring.

The space on either side of the living room TV (our ancient Sony, hooked up to the antennae) used to have those large, black speakers. They looked too empty without them so I tweaked the space with various items until I came up with this on one side (and tall dried flowers on the other side).

I have the "Recommendations" post to assemble, three books to read and review, as well as at least two pantry posts I want to write... all while I have seasonal home chores to accomplish. People have asked me how I come up with things to write about, so far that has not been a problem. My one blogging regret is not being able to respond to every comment... :)

I'll be back with a Holiday pantry post as soon as I can transfer my thoughts from my brain to my laptop.

Note: I know the quality of the pictures are not the best. My living room is rather dark (with the large porch outside the window blocking direct sunlight) so I had to use the flash.
