My World this Week

Took a pic to see if I liked my bedroom rug in the study... no, does not work at all.
The temperature reached 50 on Monday, only to begin dropping again Tuesday.  I must remember it is still January but it seems to have been a very long winter already.

But I'm inside where it is warm and cozy.   I was thinking yesterday how I should not be longing for spring quite so much as my work load more than doubles as the lawn and garden work returns. :)

Reading
Reading The Shell Seekers for fiction and 7 Men and the Secret of their Greatness by Eric Metaxas for nonfiction (that on the Kindle).

Also Taproot magazine, my Bible, My Utmost For His Highest, and a lovely article from The Rabbit Room printed out to enjoy.

Gifts from the family
Bought with Christmas money from Hubby, a print on heavy cardboard that looks like an oil painting.
Ditto... he helped pick this cutey from a few options.
Teacup and spoon from Mr. & Mrs. Christopher... that is one unique teaspoon!
Stephanie made the cute owl for me.

Thrifting
There were a few pieces of this silver plate available at Goodwill recently.  I had just the place for this small bowl with the deep red interior color so it came home with me for $1.99.

I kinda' wished I'd bought one of the other items as it was just as inexpensive.  But I've learned if I have to wonder where I would put something, it is usually a good idea to leave it on the shelf for another person to enjoy.

Tea Time
The tea cozy got a lot of use in that very cold weather. This one was found at a thrift shop five or six years ago.

Her Fluffiness
It has been too cold to stay in the window long but I let her feel the breeze for just a few minutes a day.

I read "The Long Winter" by Laura Ingalls Wilder (Little House books) this winter and some more extreme winter condition stories. Figured as long as it was so cold, I would just immerse myself in cold weather and if those people could survive very extreme cold and blizzards, I would be OK in my little cold corner of the world. Blessings, Sharon D.

That crooked teaspoon is just the right tool for the job! Sweet additions to your home in the silver bowl with the red interior, the darling owl. I think you could make the carpet work if you tucked it under the two front feet of your chair and placed the ottoman on top. Course, you probably know just the spot where it would really work.

Good morning! Let me start by saying I love to see that someone besides me "trys" rugs out in different places just to see, lol. And then, that comfy chair you have in there has the exact same fabric I had on some of my furniture a few years ago. I LOVED it! It is all in my oldest son's home now. And I have never tried a tea cozy believe it or nor, but I have wanted to. Does it really keep the tea good and warm? I like mine pretty hot. Enjoy your day!

That sunny teapot and the beautiful tea cosy provide such a 'warm' glow on a very grey morning/week/month here (Vancouver, Canada). Thank you.

That is a lovely tea cozy! And what an interesting silver bowl - Red inside!

I finished the Goudge book - The Heart of the Family. I liked it very much and now will need to find the other books in this trilogy. Have you read this one?

Our mild days are slipping away - it's getting colder again.

Well, I need to go run errands, returns and exchanges. this should finish it!

That silver bowl with the red interior is stunning! Too bad the rug didn't work out in your study, but isn't it fun trying old things in new places? I'm working on a bit of that myself, as I put things back out that were stored away for Christmas.

Love your teacup and saucer! Such a pretty, fresh design. And that spoon? It's so clever and unique!

I like the rug in your study! funny how people's opinions differ. :) I hope that you are feeling better soon!

Also like your new red bowl! I haven't been to Goodwill by the pound in so long that I am really anxious to go for some "retail therapy".
