Vote on November 6th!

The message of Coffee Tea Books & Me is not political but I must again share this video.  I've seen the commercial, I think made by a Catholic group.  This version is the same but with Mike Huckabee narrating.  It is amazing and gives me chills each time I watch it.

I truly believe the result of tomorrow's election may either give America another chance or plummet us into a great abyss.   No candidate is perfect by far but we have once again been given a definite choice in basic beliefs between the men.  Our current president has gone on record as pro-abortion, pro-same sex marriage, and has not shown much favor in situations where Christian liberty is at stake.

I was listening to Charles Stanley this weekend and he talked about how our society has been changed a little at a time over the years until now it does not resemble the America we grew up in at all, especially if you are over fifty.  While what we need is another Great Awakening, we also need moral leadership (even if we do not agree with Mormon theology).

It was Ruth Graham who said long ago, "If God does not judge America, he will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah".  Strong words at the time and perhaps needed even more now.

If you are an American who is registered to vote, I hope you do so tomorrow.  For anyone else who reads this blog before then, American Christians covet your prayers.

Well said.

I mailed my ballot from overseas in advance.

Thank you for sharing that video. I've passed it along to a number in my circle. It gave me chills as well. Yes, we do have a clear choice. Not vote tomorrow? Not an option, I'll crawl to the polls if I must.

So true... Very succinct summary of how important this election is!

I certainly appreciated this video. As a young mother struggling to instill godly values in my young son, these issues are all important to me. Despite this, I find myself struggling to endorse Romney. I'm uncomfortable with his previous comments in support of abortion, specifically in 1994 when he ran for office in Massachusetts and said: “I believe abortion should be safe and legal in this country. I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years, that we should sustain and support that law and the right of a woman to make that choice.”

He made similar comments in 2000 when he ran for governor again. I have no doubt that he is personally pro-life, but I am reluctant to wholeheartedly endorse a man who would protect abortion when it is politically helpful for him to do so.

Thank you. I have tears in my eyes as I think of our country and what it has become. When I look into the sweet eyes of my grandchildren and wonder what they will face. I remember and am grateful God is sovereign over all.
Pray and vote. I feel we are at a crucial crossroads. Dee

Mitt Romney will say anything to get elected, whether he contradicts himself or not. Paul Ryan claims to be guided by Christian principles, but he admires the atheist, elitist author Ayn Rand. They will help the rich get richer at the expense of the economy, the environment, and especially the "little people". I don't agree with all of Mr Obama's opinions, and I don't like seeing my tax dollars support things I think are wrong. But our law forbids a state religion and that is a good thing, because it protects my right to worship as I choose. It also gives people the right to not believe in God, and the government has to respect that right as well as our right to believe. I don't see Tea Partiers respecting the rights of anyone but themselves, and that scares me a lot more than Mr Obama does.

dear anonymous #2...i would ask you to really look and read what the Tea Party people stand for and say before you make blanket statements. Just as it's unfair to lable all Democrats "left-wingers", it is also unfair to say that all Tea Partiers don't respect the rights of anyone but themselves. Ignorance scares me.

As our pastor said on Sunday...no matter who wins the election, we know who is in charge. God can and has used many different people throughout our history to further his cause.

There is peace in knowing the One who raises princes and brings down kings. Mercifully, the Scriptures show us that God's plan cannot be thwarted by men.

As non Americans we are praying for your country today - the choice for Christians there looks to be a very difficult one.

Understandably, many Christians are disappointed, or even appalled, by Obama's stance on several social issues, but on the other hand we have listened/watched from without, with near disbelief that any leader could so change what he is willing to say he stands for depending on what he perceives will benefit him politically - it is hard to imagine putting one's trust in Romney.

Praying God's grace.

Another Dee -- I didn't vote for President Obama during first election because of abortion issue but could neither vote for Sen. McCain after checking his voting record and his choosing of Sarah Palin . I am totally against abortion. I have a dear dear friend who had an abortion decades ago - before she had the "grace" to understand that is not God's will - BUT that sin is covered by the blood , thanks unto the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ . With all respect to the person, I could NOT vote for a Mormon - they are of a different faith.I have studied Mormonism for decades. Decades. I do believe President Obama when he says he is a Christian and I emphatically believe that Jospeh Smith was a false prohphet. I think perhaps the most tragic words in scripture are "Depart from me , I never knew you." Following a false prophet is not covered by the blood of my Savior - the Lord Jesus Christ. Respectfully submitted -( with prayers for America now and prior to election AND during the Iraq war - so many ppl forget the tens of thousands of innocent Iraq citizens killed.) And - make no mistake - I support the troops 100% -- my household lives with Vietnam memories from the front lines Every Single Day and esp every night from the bloodiest year in Vietnam. Supporting our troops in Afganistan -- bring them home , President Obama. Praying for God's mercy on American - our culture has been changing for decades . With respect toward all and I thought Mr. Rommney gave a gracious and class act all the way during his speech.
