Hello my blog friends!
It has been a long time since I worked full time outside the home. I'd forgotten how tired one can get, arriving home and still having dishes and laundry waiting. I skipped a night when I was very tired so I had extra dishes and laundry last night. While I accept help with the dishes, I do not ask the guys for help with the laundry. Otherwise I could end up with a load of formerly white clothes now pink. :)
Dinners have been drive-thru or simple sandwiches made at home. So much for nutrition. This time it is temporary so we will survive. :)
Sigh... I would also love to work at a bookstore under different circumstances. However, these two weeks are crazy with thousands of students coming through spending hundreds of dollars on textbooks. Some are in shock at the prices (or their parents are standing their with open mouth and credit card in hand as I give them their totals). It is not uncommon to ring up a total of $500 to $900, especially for the textbooks of science and engineering students.
When I tell them I am working these two weeks to pay for textbooks, they know I feel their pain. Next week will be even busier with over twenty cash registers going at one time, at least on Monday thru Thursday.
I arrived home last night to find a much anticipated box waiting on my porch. A special blog friend has sent me a DIGITAL CAMERA! If she will give me permission, I will share who it is that is making it possible for me to add more pictures. I can't say it is her "old" camera as it is still quite nice but she purchased a brand new one and sent me the camera she was using. I will have fun with it... next weekend!
I'm hoping to share Sunday Afternoon Tea tomorrow. After that, I'll only be able to "pop in" perhaps once or twice until next Saturday. I can do this... it is only for two weeks and I'm half way through it already! It is taking some financial pressures off the family added by the cost of junior college classes... that is what is important. I will add just a few more favorites to the side bar next week.
It was quite hot last week but this weekend is cooler (if you can call highs in the 80s "cool"). With the football season starting for local high schools last night, I can already feel autumn not too far in the distance. This has been one very hot summer so I am ready! Of course, I am always ready for sweater weather.

Hi Brenda,
You can do it! You're almost finished - just one more week. I'm sure your family appreciates the benefit to the family finances although I'm sure they'll be happy when you can be home again. The bookstore sounds crazy! As do those prices!
Take care,
Manuela
Brenda dear,
I know how special that is to be blessed by someone who gives you their "old" camera:-) I had that very thing happen and now I can share with my readers pictures that surround my life. Blessings on your Saturday!
Brenda, I can understand how tired you are, having worked as a cashier at Wal-Mart for 14 years. The last several, I was also working in electronics with music. I pray for God to give you wisdom and strength to endure. What a blessing to receive a camera from a friend. You just need to rest while at home. :-)
I've been crazy busy myself the last week or so and haven't been able to keep up with my friends as I'd like to......Brenda, holding you up in prayer for a bit of extra stamina to see you through! What a blessing that this opportunity was there for you when you needed it.
Brenda,
I feel your pain as I was a student until this past winter--for the second time! Those textbook prices are brutal and I am not looking forward to how bad they will be when my boys reach college age. I am praying for you and just remember--it's temporary and you'll be at home in no time. May your weekend be blessed!
Warmly,
Jenn
Yes, yes, yes! I SO KNOW what you mean about the price of textbooks! I have/had 2 sons in college in engineering and science! (One graduated last spring and the other has another semester to go. But I still have a son in college. Just not in science.) RIDICULOUS!!
My sympathy on your exhaustion. You are doing a good thing. Congrats on the camera! Enjoy!

Brenda, you definitely have my permission to call the high 80's "cool". :)
Happy Blogiversary today! You've come a long way baby, lol.

Hang in there you are almost there. I have two college students so I can relate about books. I will be praying for you this next week.
blessings on your Sunday
What a great idea to work at the book store to help pay for the books. I should have thought of that! I hope you are resting this weekend and hope that next week will go quickly for you. Take care!
Dear Brenda,
I've been reading your blog which I found about a month ago with deep appreciation and inspiration from your ideas. We are going through a difficult time - my husband has dementia and is now again in the hospital for low hemoglobin - and it is good for me to read your ideas. They come from God. Thank you. SOO HAPPY! That has to be the title of this comment. Because I'm so happy, that your working time is half over.
And I'm so happy that you are not trying to dooo itttt alll, around the house, for this busy time.
And I am going to burst with excitement that you have a digital camera! Totally going to burst with excitement!
I must write another snail mail to you, today.
Hugs, hugs, hugs,
Mari-Nanci
Brenda, I'm praying for God to grant you His strength as you finish the job. I hope today has been a good day of rest for you.
