These aren't the best pictures since I use the little "throw away" camera, however they will do in a pinch. :)
Here is the checkered curtain with the dutch lace underneath it. I'll take a picture further back next time so you don't get the flash.
Here is a view out the same window during the Spring. These were our gorgeous azaleas. We lost one bush when he had that unusual heat followed by a week of freezing temps. However, this bush hadn't bloomed, yet, so it was fine. We planted two more azalea bushes this Spring as my husband has developed a real fondness for them.
Here is a picture of my bedroom. The cute shelving was already over both windows. It had been their little girl's room (with dolls and bears on it, I have teapots and teacups on both of them now). We kept the bedroom pretty much as it was...with the exception of tearing up the carpet which had wood floors underneath (allergies, you know).
The color doesn't show up very well but the walls are yellow, the curtains a cream color, and the bedspread is a beautiful green tapestry that I purchased at a garage sale a couple of years ago. It fit in perfectly when we moved here.
I've shown this before but I changed the top of the antique cabinet in the dining area a little. I purchased the silk lavender for $2.00 at a garage sale and it looks so beautiful along with the old sewing machine.
Here's one more picture which is the top of my refrigerator now. I purchased the old cake tin at a garage sale for $1.00 and it looked perfect with my other "stuff that have red in them". I had a similar cake tin that had flowers on it on top of my various refrigerators over the years. I gave it to my daughter a couple of years ago to use in her house. I was thrilled to find this one, especially so cheap.
The painting of daffodils propped up against the back is the one my daughter put there...I love how it looks! It is obviously painted on a canvas by an amateur but it's very well done. It goes well with all the butter yellow and reds that I have in the kitchen.
I hope you enjoyed the tour! Now...I must return to my baking. :)

Oh, I am so glad you posted a picture of that curtain. I've been trying to picture how it must look!
My Mother had a Singer sewing machine similar to yours. I remember it sitting in their dinning room for many years.
Thank you for the tour. I felt right at home. If only I lived nearby we could have a good visit. I love the lace at your kitchen window -- it's just what I'm hoping to do. I haven't found the lace curtain yet and still have to make the valance. Your home is so restful and pretty.

Oooh, I just love the little shelf above the window! I decorate with teapots too. Even though I just found your blog within the past week or so, I've become a daily visitor because we just have so much in common. Thanks for sharing the pictures from around your home.
