My guys are working a temporary job for a few weeks and I've found myself in a house so quiet, I can hear the cats moving around. For those who do not own cats (or rather, who are not owned by cats), that is quiet. My cats do not make a lot of noise unless you've overslept and they have been waiting for breakfast.
The quiet has inspired my reading so I was able to read through Talk to the Hand today and skim enough of a couple other books to free up space on my coffeetable. I will be teaching a literature class at our homeschool co-op this year and I'm putting together a Russian literature class for my son this semester so this is really my last week for some "non-school-related-reading".
The three I have pulled off the shelf are:
I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. I had just read a recommendation for this book when I came across it at Goodwill. I hear there is a good move based on the book but I want to read the book before viewing the movie.
The Child From the Sea by Elizabeth Goudge. I just started collecting her books and this is the one I found at the last library sale.
Nothing But Wodehouse, actually many stories so I'll read a few as time permits.
