An Amish Market, a review

An Amish Market contains four short stories within one volume.  Each story revolves around a shop, although in different towns.

In Love Birds by Amy Clipston, Ellie Lapp is mourning the loss of her brother.  She takes a part-time job at a shop to help buy groceries for her and her widowed mother.  This story revolves around Ellie, her brother's friend, and the shop.  Simple romance but a good story.

In A Bid for Love by Kathleen Fuller, Hannah sells her home-churned butter at the local market.  This romance revolves around Hannah and Ezra, who buys a lot more butter than he needs as a bachelor living alone.  Again, a simple romance.

Sweeter Than Honey by Kelly Irvin is the story of Isabella and Will.  Will has a broken heart after the first woman he loved married his brother and both left the Amish community to minister in an "English church".  It is the story of Isabella helping him to not only love again but to forgive his brother and sister-in-law. 

Love in Store by Vanetta Chapman was my favorite of the four short stories as it was a little different than the others.  Both the Amish man and woman in this romance are older than in the usual stories and they have to work together to solve a mystery.  It was quite interesting.

This is the kind of book that makes for great reading when you don't have a lot of time to get into a longer novel.  Each story is enjoyable and easily finished in a few readings (less if you read fast).
