My World this Week

After the past ten days whirlwind of activities, it is good to share another My World this Week blog post. I need long stretches of time to ponder and I must admit, re-entering the world of the fast lane made my head spin.  I must shake my head and wonder that I used to live that way each and every day of the year.  Amazing...

I decorated a lot this year, even the front porch is spruced up with lots of red and green.  It just felt right this Season to fully embrace all it has to offer.  Now, when all of it must be repacked to return to its' home on the shelves in the garage come January, I may think just the tree would have sufficed.

This is what has been happening in my world for ummm... more than a week... as seen through the lens of my camera.

Reading

I was so busy, I needed to reread something encouraging and this book is a favorite, I think this was my third re-read.  I kept it up on the Kindle to read off and on when I had an opportunity.

More info on Amazon... here.*  I noticed the Kindle version is discounted!  Since I reread it, one of my prayers has been for pixie dust each day.  ;)

Thrifting
Purchased last summer for a couple dollars, came out for the Thanksgiving table.  It is a small-ish vintage platter, perfect for the presentation of carved turkey.

The Study
The stand with the plant had to temporarily come in here... it may be permanent!

Decorating
You should see this at night with the reflection of the tree against the hurricane lamps.

Old Friends
Cross stitched when Stephanie was a baby.

Starbucks Christmas cup, need I say more?

He makes me quite happy.

From my very small vintage collection.

Made when Christopher was a baby.

Her Fluffiness

She is such the little helper!

So glad you are feeling the "Christmas spirit" and doing more decorating. Everything looks lovely. (I love the turkey platter--a great find!) Best wishes for the season to you and your family!

Hi, Brenda! I am "borrowing" a little of your enthusiasm for this Christmas season, decorating, etc. I like your snowman collection - displayed so attractively.....

Very little decorating going to happen HERE this year - however, I AM enjoying other peoples'!

So pretty...I'd love to see those red tapers lit and glowing! There may be a header in it for you. ☺

What craziness have you been up to? The decorating? Shopping? Traveling? Curious minds wish to know.

Must say that Christmas spirit is very infectious.

It's all so cheery! I love that you are displaying all that you are, and though later you may wish it was only the tree, you can smile remembering how fun it was to celebrate! Just take it down bit by bit like you've put it up!

I think I've only seen sneak peeks of a few of your snowman before. How delightful to see them out in full force!

I LOVE the snowmen collection, all together. They make a forceful, cheery statement grouped all together. I like the plant in your study. Did you notice that the shape of your plant compliments the willow-y tree standing on the low chest, on the other side of your comfy chair? Good design, I say. keep it in the study. I always enjoy your "my world this week" Miss Brenda.

Your hand-stitched fireplace with the stockings hung (in time) is so cheerful and homey. I have a few I stitched way-back-when, too.

What an array of snowmen you have. I think I spied one on snowshoes. Come to think of it, it would be the only way of getting around without rolling around, when the snow is deep, if you were a snowman, wouldn't it? Cute.

On Sunday friends were here and they explained to us the charms of Maine Coon Cats!!! ha ha ha! I had no idea!!!! Afterward my mom (who at this point is an avowed no-cats person) even stated that she might need to get one of these amazing cats! Now I understand something of how adorable they are!

your home is so beautiful and inviting! I've got the tree up and the nativity, but that's it. Made a trip to meet #6 grandchild and came home with a nasty stomach bug! I love vintage and want to collect more.
