The quick passage of time...

It is quite difficult to believe it is almost Wednesday evening already.  This week has flown by!  I think I will have a My World this Week ready for tomorrow (I think I can... I think I can, etc.).

I ran an errand Downtown not too long past noon.   To get to my destination, I had to drive down a street which is rarely on my path these days.  My brother lived in this area when his children and I were all very young.  They are now grandparents, too.

I passed by the nursing home which used to be the largest school in the County.  Close to it is a boarded up building, at one time a warehouse and later the home of the Christian coffeehouse ministry I was a part of in my mid-to-late teens.

A bicycle shop is now housed where a drug store was located, the favorite spot where my nieces and I would walk for a cherry coke at their soda fountain.   Also on the way was the bakery where I purchased my wedding cake decades ago.

Of course, all of this reminding me how very fast time goes by.  Christopher turns twenty-four later this week.  My surprise baby is 24 years old.  When I started writing Coffee Tea Books and Me... he was not even driving, yet.

He called my cell phone when I was driving one of the main roads heading out to the country on my way home.  I normally don't take a call when I'm driving but 1) this was an easy stretch of road to drive and 2) I hadn't talked to him in ages.

We will see him and Mrs. C on Thanksgiving, along with all of her family.  It is also difficult to believe it has been an entire year already since our last Thanksgiving Feast.  Then, of course, we start decorating for Christmas.

I don't know about you but with the world spinning this fast, I think I need a nap.  :)

Brenda,

My oldest is 24! That time flies by doesn't it?

I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving.

I agree with "anonymous". . . Enjoy those babies! They grow up so soon and we grow older. . . it's unbelievable to me that I am the age I am now. Where did all the years go?! Live each day to the fullest and enjoy the "now moments". Neighborhoods and towns sure change over the years, don't they. Happy Thanksgiving!
