Happy Veteran's Day

The grandchildren sent a "Happy Veteran's Day" text to Granddad early this morning.  That made him very happy. He would have texted back but being an old mature Vet... he has figured out e-mail but not texting.   :)

So... thank you to all the brave men and women who have served their country.  Whether in war (like hubby) or in the military during the war (like my friend, Linda and her hubby).

We had our first snowfall yesterday, nothing to write home about but it did accumulate on the deck.  Hubby and I are still working on organizing the garage.  We're taking a break later to take advantage of Applebee's free meal for vets.  He budgeted funds for me to be able to go with him as long as I don't get anything expensive.  Reminds me of when we were dating.

I'm dangling that in front of me like the proverbial carrot to keep working on that garage... work a little and rest a little and work a little, etc.

Oh I'm glad that you'll be taking advantage of Applebee's great offer. I read about all the different businesses offering free meals or drinks or donuts. Hope that your hubby is feeling hungry! Would he like a slushie? Please tell him thank you from me.

What a great day - combination of work accomplished AND a meal out!

Reminds me of our dating- we couldn't go anywhere if we didn't have a coupon. We went to an early bird special the night he proposed- only people under 60 there! Well things haven't changed that much- about the coupons I mean. Enjoy your dinner. Angela

We considered going to Applebee's for my husband's free meal but then considered the long line and decided to stay home and eat pizza! We went last year thus our knowledge about the long lines! I do remember him feeling honored last year when he received his free meal. It made me free proud.

I hope you enjoyed a yummy dinner. Now, don't push too hard on the garage and get lots of rest. You should probably go and make a pot of tea in that beautiful teapot you've been showing us!

Have a lovely time at Applebees. I'm so glad so many places are doing special things for veterans now.
