I appear to be on the other side of recovery. Although, the weather is not beneficial to one with a swollen throat and hurting ears. Heavy rain was pounding the windows this morning and as the sun was coming up enough to see the front yard, the snow had all been replaced by mud. There has been a cold drizzle on and off since noon-ish. All the makings for hibernating.
I should have stayed inside where it was warm and dry but I needed to take a lot of books back to the library and to stop by the grocery store on the way home. Even with a very low grocery budget, I still look for ways to deepen the pantry. I was able to purchase five large cans of my favorite Italian tomatoes! The price was amazingly low. I'll be writing more about pantry stuff later in the week... the technical term you know... stuff.
There are more Christmas pictures of the house sitting patiently in the digital camera, hoping for their day in the limelight to be oohed and awed over (for the dining room is particularly pretty right now). However, they may be waiting awhile. The cable that connects the camera to the port in my computer has finally bit the dust. I knew it had problems recently but it has given up the electrical ghost. How many descriptions of "broken" can one find?
Now for this evening, it may be warm enough for rain outside but it is a very cold rain. I need to bundle up and read more of Mrs. Whaley's book. Then I have a rather large book I must read next to review. So, I'm off to brew tea with lemon and honey (I must try that trick with the vinegar, too) and then curl up to read awhile.
Since traveling to a B&B and being waited upon is not an option, reading on the sofa with a cup of hot tea is the next best thing. Perhaps a slice of cinnamon toast would be just what the doctor ordered, too. :)

Ooh, cinnamon toast sounds lovely!
I have water on for tea right now -
maybe I will put toast on too!
We are to get rain all day tomorrow! I would love to just stay home, but I have a few kids who are clamoring for Christmas shopping, and with 15 days to go, I think we probably will head out for a while!
Glad you are feeling better -
So glad you are feeling better ... and that you found a bargain while grocery shopping. But I am so sorry about that cable, grrrr! My husband has a stash of cables for every kind of thing ... I wonder if one of our spares would work for you? What kind of camera do you connect to?
Mmmm, I love cinnamon toast! I glad you are feeling better and hope you feel 100% soon.
I'm so glad you are doing better. It's cold here too. Take care and have fun reading.
I hope you're feeling better soon, Brenda. It's no fun being sick, especially this time of year. :(
Just popping by to invite you over to Hospitality Lane for a quick contest/giveaway.
Hope you feel totally healthy soon!
I love cinnamon toast!
Becky
