Tracey McBride tagged me to write about six things for which I am thankful.
By the way, Tracey's book called Frugal Luxuries is one of my all time favorite comfort books. It reinforces the way I love to live... living a beautiful life on a budget. It's also on my Amazon widget. (What a self serving statement that is, right? But I LOVE both of Tracey's books.)
I think the people who left unkind reviews of her book on Amazon just didn't understand that it's not a book like the Tightwad Gazette, giving hundreds of specific frugal tips. Instead, it reinforces gracious living on a budget.
So here's my six off the top of my head:
1. I'm thankful that the God of all creation sent His son to rescue fallen humanity (and of course, I'm grateful for Jesus and the Holy Spirit... all the Trinity).
2. I'm thankful that I have the best children, son-in-law, and grandchildren. Family need not be perfect to be wonderful so I'm thankful for my husband of thirty-four years.
3. I'm thankful for my lovely little house in the country.
4. I'm thankful for the world of words which take me to places I've never been before, journeying to the stars and back, receiving wisdom from those who lived hundreds of years ago, and finding those who let me know "I am not alone".
5. I'm thankful for my furry best friends through the years especially Trixie (my childhood Pekingese best friend), Sasha, and Storm. We were created in a garden and surrounded by animals, which explains why Humanity loves gardens and friends with fur.
6. I'm thankful for my first cup of coffee in the morning and my tea in the afternoon, the first served in my Winnie the Pooh mug and the latter poured into a china cup from a pretty teapot.
and adding one extra...
7. I'm thankful for YOU. :)
I now tag my daughter at Cottage Thoughts. That's all she needs right now, one more thing to add to her "to do" list so I'm not certain how soon she will get it written. :)

It's looking very cozy and Christmasy here! Your comment about some of Tracey's comments sent me scurrying for Amazon where I once wrote a less than glowing review of a book. I had forgotten until now! It's now listed as the "most helpful" critical review. I obviously was not following my mother's advice that day. Hope that Tracey takes it all in stride.
I had no clue Tracey had a blog so I'm glad to find a link here.
Very nice list. I am thankful for current and past fur friends too, especially their unconditional love.
I love your new Christmas look. This was a nice post, but then most of your posts give me warm fuzzies. I love that you have a Winnie the Pooh mug -- I have loved Winnie the Pooh since my childhood.
I see that we are thankful for some of the same things!! I'm glad you had a nice Thanksgiving! I'm going to go look for that book. It sounds interesting to me.
Oh no! That does sound bad now, doesn't it? No, no, I certainly didn't comment on Tracey's book.
Hello Brenda,
What a lovely lady you are and your 6 gratefuls are lovely to.
Blessings Gail
Dear Brenda, what a beautiful list. Thank you for the lovely and very kind "plugs" for my books! You are right about those reviewers...I believe as you do...that they just don't understand the concept...or it wasn't for them. That being said, I'm happy to tell you these things bother me less and less as the years go by. Obviously, my work must have touched them...why else go to to the trouble of writing anything at all...perhaps it made them think new thoughts that were uncomfortable to them...or?? As you know, there are always going to be a few "trolls" (as you call them) who don't understand. I just say a prayer for them, and shift my focus to what is good, right and lovely...such as your inspiring blog...and the good souls like you who go out of the way to offer kindness and soothe hurts. I thank you and all kindred souls for the consolation and the joy.
Warm thoughts and blessings to all.
