My favorite teapots

I'm a little early for Gracious Hospitality's next Hospital-i-tea Blog-a-thon entry. However, I won't be online Monday! I may be going through withdrawal symptoms by that time. :)

I have lots of teapots, most coming from garage sales and thrift shops. You've seen them around the house, over windows, holding flowers, etc. However, these three rarely leave my china cabinet... they are my favorites.

This was a Goodwill find for only $2.99 and it is gorgeous! I had this "feeling" I should stop by Goodwill one evening when I had to be in town, anyway. There... on a top shelf... behind all the other dishes... was this beauty. I knew the guy who shelves things at Goodwill had put it there, hoping I'd find it (as he knows I'm looking for such things) before someone else could. I truly believe God led me to Goodwill for this treat that evening!

This beautiful teapot was a garage sale find when we lived in Michigan. I drove down a dusty road just because it had a "Garage Sale" sign at the corner. There was a young mom with tiny children trying to hold a garage sale. Most of the things were for babies and kids but my eyes spotted this... $5.00... a great buy. Sometimes going down those garage sale rabbit trails are worth it. :)

This is my favorite tea pot and it always will be... no matter how many I own. This was my first "beauty", a gift from my daughter when she was still in college. I adore this teapot!

Since I had the camera out, I thought you would like to see the tiny teacups I bought in Shipshewana, Indiana. They can be used as Christmas Ornaments but I thought they were beautiful in the china cabinet. They are so cute!

Sigh... such beauty... makes my heart sing. I think the teapots enjoyed getting outside the china cabinet for awhile. :)

Beautiful teapots! I wish I lived close enough to you so I could stop by, have a cup of tea and chat for a l-o-n-g time. I've had that Goodwill 'feeling' and it's always proved successful when I follow it. That happened the day I found my 'new' dishes with the yellow roses. ~Adrienne~

I had to pack up my teapots and put them in storage awhile. We moved to a small flat house when my hubby lost his balance with Parkinsons and there is only room for the practical. I do find myself picking up a tea item here and there as I miss them so...I loved your blog and your tea pots. We should sit and sip and chat awhile....

Your teapots are beauties! I like the one your daughter gave you the best. Those little cups are adorable. I bought a few little cup and teapot ornaments at TJ Maxx at the end of Christmas sale. I thought a little china Christmas tree would be fun to have in the dining room this year.

Beautiful teapots, all. I think I'll have to stop by Goodwill myself on a more regular basis. These things are expensive!

Just lovely, Brenda! We don't find things like that at our Salvation Army or Thrift Shop here. I think you could make some money by buying things and selling them over the internet. I'm afraid of having china shipped, in case it breaks but I might be interested in certain second hand books. I recently bought some Grace Livingstone Hill books from Anna at Pleasant View Schoolhouse and am reading those now.

Wonderful! I have recently started my "hunt" for teapots! We love to have tea all the time, and I just don't have any teapots, so it's time I begin searching!

My, these are beautiful! I especially liked the first one - and I can't believe that was a Goodwill buy. I never think of going there, but perhaps I should. I also liked your little tea cups. My mom has always had a teacup collection. As children we used to love to eye the little cups through her china cabinet. Even though I'm now older, I think I'd still be afraid to actually touch these items - all are so irreplaceable!

I love your blog, and I, too, collect teapots. I put them away when my daughter was born (I don't have a hutch or breakfront, I kept them in a bookcase and was afraid of "little fingers" getting hurt) and have been thinking about bringing them out again, now that she's 4.
Your blog is a comfort, and we could all use some comfort nowadays! Thanks for being here!

Your teapot collection is lovely! I am sure they enjoyed the 'airing' as much as we enjoyed visiting with them. My old brown betty is brewing a cup of ' creme de la earl grey' for my enjoyment!

Blessings!

Hi Brenda--love your beautiful finds! Thanks for leaving a comment at my NCIS post last week.... so what did you think of the finale last night? :) I added a P.S. about it to my latest post if you'd like to read what I thought... The last minute blew me away--and not in a good way, either! :) Thanks again for all your comments at my blog... Blessings, Debra

Those are such beautiful teapots! I have just one, but I love it! My sisters gave it to me as a wedding gift - they bought the complete tea set at an antique store. I'll have to post it on my blog! :)

Wow! Those are some of the most beatiful teapots I've ever seen and it's hard to believe where you found most of them. I'm going to hope for similar finds at those places! Truly beautiful! Thanks so much for letting us see them too.

What beautiful teapots! I love them -- they are all so fresh, romantic, beautifully shaped, and graceful. And what special buys you found on the yard sale and Goodwill ones! Your daughter-teapot is lovely! Thank you for participating in the blog-a-thon. I've enjoyed everyone's posts so much and will miss all the 'tea themed' action from all.
