Thank you...again. :)

I continue to be overwhelmed by your comments and e-mails. If I should ever think of closing comments again, I will go back and read your words. If (when) I have a BAD day, I'll go back and read your words. I've had so many e-mails, I haven't even begun to respond to them. Thank you, again. Your words are precious and life giving.

Did you click on the picture of my bedroom bookcase? It really is true that you can know a lot about a person by looking at their bookshelves. I think I mentioned before that I went through D. James Kennedy's Evangelism Explosion many years ago (before I was married so I must have been nineteen) and that is one of the first things he tells a person to do when entering the home of a new friend... check out their reading.

It wasn't until after I had typed out the fact you CAN click on the photo and really see the books that I had the thought... hmmm... just what books did I put in there? I wouldn't have anything really BAD but I do have some, shall we say... eccentric titles? I used to own Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and people would ask me WHY I had that book. It was a bet of sorts (not that I am a betting person)... I told a former boss that I would read his favorite book if he would read one of my Schaeffer titles.

Actually, there can be a lot of Truth in some of these books and ideas which provide a base of communication with others. Kind of like Paul in the book of Acts and his Mars Hill speech. Not that one should ever read books that are defiling but when one looks at the way another thinks... it sometimes helps to see where they are coming from when we are talking Truth. Hmmm... how did I get that serious?

I'm now off to do lawn work. It is hard to believe we awoke yesterday to temperatures in the 20s and we have a glorious, sunny day in the 70s today. This is our third spring on this property and we have learned from the previous two (the hard way) that one must "make hay" while you can or you end up with... hay! We are on less than an acre but our property has a very long fence, most of the way around it. That is where we will be working today. So... I trade in a mouse and keyboard for gardening gloves, a rake, and my pruners. :)

You can read a person by the books on his/her shelf! I suppose I have too many books...my grandchildren tell me that.

Brenda,
I've been catching up on your blog and read what happened with Cindy. I just recently started reading your blog consistently and have enjoyed and LEARNED fromyour words of wisdom about living on less. Please don't let her words have victory. If you have helped me seek to be more frugal, I know you have encouraged others.

Brenda,

I'm new to your blog. It is lovely. We are finally getting spring weather here. I spent a good part of the afternoon outside soaking in the warmth and sunshine.

Have a lovely evening!

WOW! I just got all through your 'drive-by-comment' issue. And yours surely does top mine!!! :-(

That "Cindy" didn't even leave a link to a mostly empty Blog Profile, like mine did. No way to trace her. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet. Not!

Ahemmm, please go into your settings and dis-allow anon. comments. Please...

And while we are on the topic of reading and commenting in blogs, I will tell you what you may have guessed. I don't regularly read/comment here any more. I feel you think you have to be too good. And I feel you do tooooo much for others. And I want to say/comment that. And I have no business saying/commenting that, in your blog.

So rather than keep commenting that I'm gonna' come over and *whap* you, for not doing more for _you_ and less for others, at times... I have stayed away. It seemed the best way to go.

You know my heart is in the right place, with wanting to *whap* you. :-)))) You know I don't agree that you have to do so many selfless things. You know that. You accept that. But for me to comment thus, is not right at all.

Hugs,
Mari-Nanci

Brenda, as usual, your blog calms, comforts and soothes. What would I read without you?

Hi Brenda, I'm so glad you commented on my blog, and that I found you! thank you so much.
I like what you say about "truth." I always say, "All truth is God's truth!"
And ... I'm heading out to the yard today too!

I agree about checking out the book selections of homes one visits. Eye opening sometimes as to the type of reading done, or in some homes, seemingly no reading happens save for the coffee table book that has an intact spine.

I love books. :o)

I just prayed for you <><

If someone were to look at my bookshelves, they would have to think I was knitting obsessed, dieting gourmand, with a degree in 19th century literature & training as either a detective or serial killer :-)
I'm sad you had to suffer thru those thoughtless words, but so glad you've found strength & encouragement from all your visitors- there is more than enough love to cover all the hard things we go through.

It's always fun to take a peek at a friend's bookcase.

Even I am doing yard work these days around the piles of snow. I don't want to get behind!

So glad that you are feeling the support!

Enjoy your lovely weather.
