My gift to you

I had oh so hoped to write before now. My computer is not fixed, it is going to the computer hospital on Thursday. The man who thought he could fix it... couldn't. It is still worth a try to see if it can be fixed so everything stored on it can be retrieved.

I started the looooong week yesterday. Christopher dropped me off around 7:20 at the Panera somewhat near the campus. I read for awhile, continued my Bible reading, and wrote ideas I wanted to post yesterday before walking to campus and the bookstore to start work at 11:00. I'm doing something new, preparing returned books to be put back on the shelves. It's always fun to learn something new and the group I'm working with is (for the most part) the same women who work back up and part-time. Only one "new" face was there and he wasn't new to me, David is my son's best friend (one of Sheila's twins).

I did "work" the main cash register for a couple of hours, which makes the time go very fast. Still... by the time Christopher arrived to pick me up, I was so tired I went to bed around 9:00! However, I made it through just fine. Today I dropped him off early, stopped at the grocery store to purchase some needed groceries, brought them home, typing here, and I must be on the way within TEN MINUTES. Yikes... where did the morning go already?

Since I'll be away from the computer most of the week, I figured now would be a good time to do the give away I was going to do last month. All you have to do is leave a comment, of course. You don't have to use your real name. :)

I'm giving a copy of one of my favorite books, A Return to Sunday Dinner as well as the Miss Read Christmas book I purchased at a library sale a few months ago. I may just include one or two other "little" goodies. Yes, I did give the same cookbook last year but I had TWO copies in my gift box. So I had one to give away this year.

Thank you so much for your comments and encouragement. If you sent an e-mail, I haven't had a chance to answer and it will probably be next week before I can get back to everyone but I have been so blessed. Our weather continues to make driving dicey (snow and ice) so I know your prayers have kept me going and brought us to and from work safely.

Don't forget to leave a comment!

Brenda,
I check your blog almost everyday. You have such a sweet way with the problems of everyday life. And I love the music on your site! Sometimes I just click on your blog and let the music play while I work on my checkbook or cleanup. Thanks for being a peaceful 'place to go'!

Your blog has been such a blessing and encouragement. My husband, too, deals with health issues that aren't often undestood since he 'looks fine'. The Lord has taught us both a lot and has been gracious, allowing improvement to the point that we can once again serve part-time.

I loved one of your blogs in November where you wrote Jesus truly is our best friend. I think ALL women need to hear that and know He alone truly understands our hearts. I have shared it with several women since then, including my daughter! Thank you for blessing me!

I would love to be considered, too. :) I really enjoy reading your blog. It's refreshing to me.

I'm glad to hear, on the one hand, that you are back up and around; but I'm sorry to hear that you really are not feeling well yet. I'll continue to pray for your restored health.

What a generous drawing! I'd love to be entered, thank you!

I am glad so far our driving weather has been good. I am going to have to go out tomorrow too. Don't over do! I came to get your sugar cookie recipe but I'd love a chance at the cookbook. We will have to have coffee after Jan 1. Linda

Your blog is a daily must-read for me! You are always such an encouragement. The last few years have taken our family down a difficult, unexpected path that has made us grow in the Lord in ways that we never would have if our lives had been easier. It's always a blessing to hear from others like you who have also experienced life's difficulties, yet used them as opportunities to grow in grace.

I can't remember if I've posted before, but I have been a regular reader for months. I feel a little guilty for lurking, hope you forgive me, but your drawing has tempted me more than I can bear. I really enjoy your writing and hope you get your computer back soon.

Computer troubles still not resolved? I'm sure that it is extremely frustrating, but you seem to take it all in stride. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed and saying a prayer that the next computer geek can fix it.

Please put my name in the basket too!
Thank you for your fun blog. I'm a new "Grammie" of a little grandbaby girl and love to have Sunday Soup Suppers at our house.
Last week, as we began Advent, my dear Daughter-in-Love quickly got up to go get the sleepy baby "so she wouldn't miss hearing anything"......is that not adorable?
That was a very precious memory for me to tuck away. I'm a firm believer that the traditions we make an effort to be important will have a lasting reward.
