A tale of two conversations

I love talking to my children.
Both conversations I had last week made me smile.

My daughter and I (over the cell phone)

"I've decided what I want for my birthday"

"What is that?"

"For the two of us to attend a John Piper conference together."

"Sounds LOVELY~!"

(The logistics behind it may be impossible but I loved the thought.)

My son and I, soon after leaving church on Sunday

"Do we need to stop by the grocery store while we are in town?"

"I don't think so."

"Well, is there anything special you want for your lunches?"

"Yes, those round things you made, they were delicious!"

"Round things?"

"You know, those hockey pucks."

"HOCKEY PUCKS?"

"They were round and looked just like hockey pucks."

"Uh...you mean scones?"

"Yes, that was it...scones!"

Sigh... at least he said they looked like hockey pucks but tasted delicious.

The male genders are so nice. My dh told me he knew what he could do with the biscuits that got over done- Kill the rabbits who eat our garden. Sons are so funny through. what would we do without them.

The scone story is hysterical. It always matters when they like it...Sometimes my kids say weird stuff about things I do for them but they also let me know it matters.

-giggles- Next time my husband makes his scones, I must remember to refer to them as hockey pucks. AFTER I've eaten 3 of them, that is. ,-)
