A Victoria give away

I've been corresponding with the very nice people from Victoria for a few months off and on. I am so excited that Hoffman Media are behind the revival of Victoria. Not only do I already enjoy their magazines but they have the nicest lady working for them (lady in every sense of the word).

They have provided a copy of a most gorgeous book called The Entertaining Touch; Recipes and Inspiration For Every Occasion. It is Southern Hospitality at its' best with lovely pictures, recipes, and ideas for entertaining ...whether it is an informal tea party, an outside party, something special for the family, or a fancy, "lets' get out the china and silver" occasion.

You'd love the pictures alone but the recipes are excellent, most are easy to prepare. Each "chapter" gives another idea to show hospitality to family and friends. I told their representative I was tempted to enter my own give away. :)

Along with the book, they will be giving you a gift subscription to the new Victoria!

I am slipping in a copy of the original Victoria just for old times sake.

All you have to do is leave a comment. You can remain anonymous if so desired. If you do not have a blog on Blogger, you can leave a comment as anonymous, too. Just leave a name I can use at the drawing on Monday morning. The winner will have to e-mail me their address (using the e-mail address on the blog). I will send you the lovely book on hospitality and an issue of the original Victoria. I'll also be e-mailing your information to Hoffman, who will contact you regarding the subscription.

For more information on the new magazine, click on the name Victoria in the first paragraph.

Oh, I have seen the mock up of the magazine. Lovely! What else would we expect from the publishers of Tea Time?

Although this date for the give away has been planned for weeks, it comes at a good time. I need a little space right now...time to ponder so to speak. Our Vet is ill so we will be having our girl with us one extra day, taking her for her shot on Friday. She has been shown a lot of love. Thank you so much for your comments and e-mails. You will never know how much they mean to me. I am as ready as one can be in the situation.

I'll be back Monday morning.

Brenda, what a lovely and generous give-away. I'm already signed up for a subscription, so let me just say congratulations for one year of blogging. I always enjoy what you have to say. Instead of putting my name in the hat, would you email me? I have something private to give you if you would be interested.

Thinking of you between now and Friday. May you experience God's comfort and love. I have a long time Internet friend who just had to put her precious kitty down yesterday.

Hugs,
Lallee

I hope this finds you well. Fluffy feline is, I hope enjoying her days more now.
I spent so many hours in our early marriage collecting Victoria Magazine only to have my sweet husband convinced me to let them go a couple of years ago. The gift of hospitality is a wonder and beauty is so soothing to a soul.
I would enjoy the offer if it were to come my way. Please include my name. Thank you,

What a wonderful giveaway - I definitely want in! I'm eagerly awaiting the new Victoria. I subscribed back in the '90's when I was in high school and absolutely loved it. I'm always kicking myself when I hear of people buying old copies because I have no idea what happened to my copies!

Thanks for sharing with us!

Brenda,
Please enter me in your drawing. It sounds delightful. I've been wondering if there's a way to do blogging for Victoria...They used to do the Friends of Victoria Newsletter, why not make it more up to date with blogs? Just a thought that's been going through my mind.

I am sorry for the loss of your cat. We do become so attached to our pets, don't we?

<< I was listening to a call-in radio program last weekend, one on which the hosts offer biblical insights into their callers financial difficulties. The hosts ended every call saying, "We'll be praying for you about this." I wondered about that. Do they really pray for each and every caller and the assortment of woes? Perhaps they do. If so, it must surely take up a good bit of post-airtime hours.
How often do we end our conversations with those same words, "I'll be praying for you"? Hopefully lots of times--when we really mean it. But are there times when we use those words as nothing more than the alternative to "Hope it works out; see ya later" and then walk away with nary a backward thought (or prayer)? Using the promise of prayer as nothing more than a parting slogan trivializes a vital part of fellowship, obedience to God, and an active opportunity to love our neighbor. It turns a commandment into evangelical jargon.
If we say it, let's follow up and pray it. >>

I am! I am! I really am praying for you!

Brenda-

I was catching up on reading your blog, as I usually reserve reading it when there aren't any distractions. ;) I'm so sorry about your cat. I know your sorrow. Please be thankful that you got to say good bye to your friend. My cat, Solomon (of 15 years) got loose when we were moving, & I was not able to stay & look for him. He was old & declawed & it was Colorado. How I've mourned. So sad that I wasn't able to protect him.
Thank you for all That you've shared lately. It really touched me when you shared about The Song. I'm only 36, but I've had a bumpy life following my Savior's lead. Circumstances this summer have been rough, & yet there is such joy & yes, thankfulness. When you finally allow the thought that you don't deserve ANYTHING seep into your brain, it becomes natural to be thankful. Thank you for being transparent. I needed it...we are so much alike!
