A very quick hello

I spent the entire day getting my son ready for a retreat in Brown County, Indiana. One would think we were an entire family preparing for a European trip by the amount of work it took...laundry, baking two different kinds of cookies, trying to remember where we stored the carry on suitcase, packing, printing out the medical release...not to mention taking him to work and picking him up four hours later this morning. He normally doesn't work on Fridays but he had promised one of the other part-time guys he'd cover for him for a few hours.

I'm happy that he's going. It is good to have time with other young people from our church and the others they will be meeting. I was thinking on the way home (from dropping him off at church where the vans were waiting to take them this afternoon) how the time has flown since he was a little blond toddler who never walked if he could run. His sister and I were just talking about how cute he was (even if he was a handful at the time). Today as I was packing for him, along with all the other toiletries, I had to pack his shaving supplies. He's almost six feet tall now and the blond hair has turned a deeper brown.

My husband and I had a pizza for dinner...taking the easy way out. I'll spend some time on the sofa watching a little TV and finishing the Tea Time book...perhaps turning in early. I don't know how you mothers of many children do it. :)

The picture above is of another young man in my life...my delightful grandson! Another little guy who is quite a handful but just as cute as he can be.

I hope you enjoy a slower pace and quieter home while your son is away. Do something special for you and hubby.

Your grandson is *cute*!

Hi Brenda,
I was at least one of the 'guilty' parties who nominated you for the Homeschool Blog Awards...especially for the 'Best New Blog'...and no matter your standing, you're still one of the best in my book! LOL Congratulations!
Have a great weekend!
Amy
