Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy...

Ahhhh...vintage John Denver. I don't care what my kid's say, I love his music! Anyway, it's the sunshine I'm raving about this morning. After a long stretch of cool and wet weather...sunshine on my shoulders is a very good thing. It's wonderful to see the colorful blooms around me again, after losing everything that had bloomed during the two weeks of "Return of Winter".

My azaleas are stunning. I took this picture off a flower site (not having a digital camera...yet) but mine look very similar to this. The two bushes we have are on either side of our deck so we're thinking of adding two more behind the deck since this is the only area that gets good sunshine. My husband is so taken with them, it is actually amusing. Especially when he is constantly reminding me they are not actually pink (a color he despises) but a shade of rose...or violet. Uh..huh...

So...all of this to say that I'll be having my usual tea party tomorrow (Sunday) and then on Monday I'm going to post a give away to stay up while I take a short blog (computer) break necessary to get my yard work finished and some annuals planted. Some people around here wait until Mother's Day to safely plant but I've checked our long range forecast and it looks "good to go".

I already know three items I'm including, which are: a copy of The Mitford Cookbook, a copy of a Beverly Nye cookbook (found recently at a thrift shop), and a blue gingham vintage apron. Further details will be on Monday and I'm planning on returning to the regularly scheduled blogging by next weekend!

So glad you spring has come. Ours in Texas came before Easter, then it snowed, but it's back. We're in East Tennessee where the dogwoods are in bloom. Beautiful.

You have a very good blog.

One of my best friends lives in Corpus Christi, Texas. I'm always amazed at the warm weather there!
