Reading time and baby watch

My daughter is ready (past ready) to have this baby but he seems determined to remain where it is warm and cozy. I can't say as I blame him but I'm hoping he makes his presence soon without an induction. If you're the praying type, please pray for Stephanie to have a safe and easy delivery.

I'm hoping to be able to stay close to home for a few days. I'll get the daily gotta do's done but I'm also planning some major reading time, re-reading more of Edith Schaeffer's first book of letters (the two volumes being among my all time favorite reads) and getting beyond the first chapter of Pym's Excellent Women. I'll write more about them later.

I've already decided to watch only the half hour local TV news this evening. It is easy to get on overload with the information coming out continually from the Virginia campus. It's not that I don't care...it's that I care too much. All I can do is pray for the families and the friends, for the campus to heal. I don't believe God intended for humans to watch such images over and over.

When I need some TV time to rest, I'll turn in to BBC America for As Time Goes By and perhaps spend a half an hour with Hyacinth or look for Lucy. A trip to Mayberry sounds like a winner today, too.

Not escaping the world as such...just the worst this world has to offer.

Time Goes By is such a lovely series. I checked out the entire collection for our public library to watch during a time period when I was recovering from an minor illness.
