Preparations for Easter Sunday

This next week, the ladies will be planning Easter menus, making certain little dresses and shirts are washed and pressed and the hair ribbons match, purchasing or whipping up a batch of candy, reminding the little ones of the Passover story as well as Palm Sunday and the Day of Resurrection...continuing the blessed day that is Easter from one generation to the next.

Those of us with no small children in our immediate lives will spend time to ponder these things on our own. I plan to read through the "Passion Week" parts of scripture. I may make some candy for my son's Easter basket. Yes, he is seventeen but I still give him a small basket. Many years ago, my niece told her mother (my sister) that she expected a basket until she got married! :)

We've been so warm here that everything seems to be blooming. I have lots of daffodils and my azaleas have begun to bloom. We're to take one of those sudden drops in temperatures that Spring can bring to the Midwest with highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s. I'm hoping there is no damage done to the pretty blossoms.

Now, I'm off to do some yard and garden work and enjoy the pretty day. I figure the regular inside Monday gotta do's can wait a couple of hours. I will be writing out menus and my "big" grocery list this afternoon so the day looks quite full.

I was just thinking about doing the same thing! The sun is shining and after a few days of rain my gardens are calling to me! Have a wonderful afternoon.

Whoo boy, when I read of temperatures in the 20s to 40s, I have to do some quick conversion. In Canada, that's really getting hot! I worked outside today in my winter coat, with a wooly hat and my gardening gloves on and nearly froze off my nose in the 20 minutes I was out there. The temperature is still below freezing (-3 degrees C)here today.

Dear Brenda, I'm going to be away from the computer for awhile so I just wanted to "pop" in and wish you a most blessed and happy Easter!
