It's a gorgeous day here, the first day it feels like Spring in a couple of weeks. Once again, there is color around me as those bulbs and blooms and trees and bushes...the late bloomers...show their resilience to the recent cold and are rewarding me with their beauty. It is difficult to believe it snowed all day on Saturday.
I dropped my son off at the campus bookstore a little earlier than usual. It is a little past noon and the streets are flooded with masses (and masses) of people. Employees as well as students of a major University...almost 40,000 students alone. There is so much...life. Large universities like ours are actually small cities within themselves. Their own community...within a community, their own town...within a town.
Driving home, I pass the large brick buildings that house various engineering classrooms and my thoughts return to the tragedy that happened in Virginia yesterday. My prayers go out to the parents, family members, and friends of those killed. My heart goes out to the parents of the killer. We are being told they are nice "church going" people.
Driving home, back to the country, it is easy to feel secure and safe. I am reminded of an interview with a police officer, shown on the evening news. He said that there is no safe place in this world today. How true...
May He who is the Prince of Peace...bring you the only peace possible in this world.

Well said, Brenda. And He is able to comfort our hearts.
Yes, we all had to be effected by that tragedy. I didn't even hear of it, till late in the day, and while reading a blog.
But one of the best ways to honor the dead, is to pay close attention to our own living. At least, I feel this way.
