An early start to spring cleaning

I have time for just the quickest of hellos today. I spent the entire afternoon cleaning my son's room, including rearranging furniture (with his permission). I probably have a couple more hours of work to do tomorrow. His room had to be put in order because it was becoming the log jam in keeping my own room clutter free (as in...laundry baskets full of his laundry to be put away but I couldn't get to his closets or drawers...typical teenage boy's room!). I'll finish the basic work and then he will have to help with his closet someday soon. I'm afraid something is going to hit me in the head when I attempt to open it.

Yesterday was one of my most stressful in years, it continued last night when I was waiting for my husband at the library and he didn't show up on time. My son and I had cell phones to keep in touch but I should have given my husband the one I usually use (I didn't think of it until after I'd dropped him off.)

I ended up having to leave the library after waiting an hour so I could pick up my son who had been waiting near campus for over an hour. When I returned to the library, my husband had arrived (he was walking from an appointment near the library). Yesterday was not fun but I awoke refreshed this morning and well able to tackle everyday living again.

If there's one thing I keep saying here...life isn't perfect so we have to do the best we can each day! Looking on the bright side, while waiting for him last night I found a copy of The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield on the "New Fiction" shelves. After reading about it on so many book blogs, I am really looking forward to starting it this evening.

Tomorrow I'm meeting two friends for lunch and we're going to a deli/bakery located in a small town not too far from where we live. It will be good to get out with female company! I'm going to put together a meat loaf and wash some baking potatoes in the morning so all I'll have to do is pop them in the oven in late afternoon for our dinner.
