For my honey

Happy Valentine's Day!

Remember when this song was sung by our friend, playing his guitar as we stood before the altar. Isn't it hard to believe it has been thirty-two (and a half) years?

Of course, I was a child bride. :)

The Wedding Song (There Is Love)
(Words and Music by Paul Stookey)

He is now to be among you
at the calling of your hearts
Rest assured this troubadour
is acting on His part.
The union of your spirits, here,
has caused Him to remain
for whenever two or more of you
are gathered in His name
there is Love, there is Love.

Well, a man shall leave his mother
and a woman leave her home
and they shall travel on to where
the two shall be as one.
As it was in the beginning
is now and til the end
Woman draws her life from man
and gives it back again.
And there is Love, there is Love.

Well then what's to be the reason
for becoming man and wife?
Is it love that brings you here
or love that brings you life?
And if loving is the answer,
then who's the giving for?
Do you believe in something
that you've never seen before?
Oh there is Love, there is Love.

Oh the marriage of your spirits here
has caused Him to remain
for whenever two or more of you
are gathered in His name
there is Love, there is Love.

I know I'm a day early but I wanted to post this for my husband to see before we would have a chance of losing power!

This brings back such wonderful memories for me, too! My husband and I stood at the altar in 1982 while this beautiful song was sung:) Hope you are "weathering" the storm okay.

And I'll be a day early and say Happy Anniversary.

But mmmmm.... What do you mean by "thirty-two (and a half) years"? What's with the 'half.'? :-)

'MN'

It's for Valentine's Day, hehehe.

Our anniversary is in August. :)

I sent my husband an e-mail with a link to this for Valentine's Day. (Early in case we lose power tonight since we are still in a blizzard.)

We've had nearly fourteen inches of snow already with more on the way.

Susan, that is so neat that you had the same song at your wedding!

I remember where I was the first time I heard it. I was driving my 65' Mustang with a few of my girlfriends in the car when it came on the radio. I was a fairly new Christian at the time and I remember looking at them and shouting, "He's talking about JESUS!". :)

This song was sung at our wedding in 1984, too!!! I loved it, but my husband wasn't so fond of it after the wedding. I had it sung while he was waiting with the preacher to come out to the platform. He kept thinking the song was over and start to open the door, only to hear another verse starting! LOL I was just loving the song, and never knew about his "troubles" till after the ceremony - when he asked, "What was with that song with a million verses?" LOL He said he wasn't nervous until he couldn't figure out when the song was really over! It's a fond memory now.

Oh that is so funny about your husband, Susan. Fortunately mine was already at the altar with me, hehehe. It is a rather long song.
