A rare Sunday hello

I usually don't post anything but hymns or such on Sunday but I wanted to let you know I am back (God willing) daily or almost daily. Blogger has been giving me fits and I found out from some e-mails (after posting on the Blogger Help Forum...they always come through) that many of us were having the same errors show up. I worked over 2 1/2 hrs. yesterday on the problem and finally gave up to enjoy my day. Besides catching up on laundry and housework, I made Snickerdoodles for the grandchildren to have on their trip home (they stay fresh a long time). They leave such a lovely aroma in the house when baking.

The grandchildren were awake very early this morning, Grammie awoke to quite loud sounds coming from the general direction of the bathroom tub as wee ones were being bathed. I remember those screams coming from two other very small children when it was time to wash their hair. :) Pictures were taken this time (forgotten the past two visits) of children and grandparents together before leaving for church.

My favorite guest speaker was at church this morning. I knew he was elderly but when he said he'd chatted with Tozer...hmmm...add up the years? Anyway, this gentlemen always speaks with wisdom that comes from age and I enjoy listening to him very much. Our church serves a meal after the service and we all stayed and ate together before departing, us for our home a few miles out of town and my daughter and her family for about eight hours in the van before stopping for the night in New York (that sounds so far away). I gave quick kisses to all and then saw my son-in-law in the hallway of the church. I couldn't talk to him or I'd start crying so he got a wave and I told him I'd see him online (he sends me the best websites and blogs).

So, it is once again quiet in the house as long as you don't count the Chicago Bears game playing in the background. I'm looking forward to doing some reading this week. I have a stack of books from the library to finish (I'll share those titles tomorrow) and a friend from church gave me two books to read this morning. They are Prelude to Glory; Our Sacred Honor by Ron Carter and The Bounty; The True Story of the Mutiny on the Bounty by Caroline Alexander. The books I have from the library are what I'd term "light reading". I'm going to get started on these two books within a couple of weeks, they look fabulous. But first...I nap. Kids are exhausting...lovable and wonderful...but exhausting.

So happy you had a lovely time... And also glad you are back to normal. There is much to be said, for each. -smile-

Awaiting your list of your 'light reading' library books. I'm always on the lookout for another reading idea. And I admit to needing a lot of 'light reading,' these days. It's always best if we 'know ourselves,' I think. So when I need 'light,' I try to follow my need.

I KNOW you so enjoyed the visit! Same here; I really enjoy it when family visits. My med school student son and his wife stopped by briefly for supper tonight before he left for his 2 remaining weeks of surgery rotation 2 hrs away, and she left for Georgia to visit her family while he's gone. Of course, they'll be back this direction in another 2 weeks, so I don't have to wait so long before I see them again. Families are wonderful...and I can't wait to experience grandchildren, like you.

Enjoy your peaceful house this week and get some rest. :)
