Under the Weather

I was able to post on the CTB&Me Facebook page that I've been ill and would not be able to write any weekend posts.  I woke up with severe vertigo symptoms early Saturday morning so I started taking the medicine the doctor had prescribed ahead of time.

Let's just say the choice is between the room spinning around and being loopy all day!

My daughter had taken the medicine before and warned me it can really knock you out.  But that is far better than laying on the sofa feeling like one is on an amusement park ride.

So far the vertigo symptoms have come this year when we have had extremes in the weather.  Living the Midwest, one can have multiple seasons in one day.

Working... very slowly and carefully... on a My World this Week post for later this week. :)

  2. Hi Brenda, I'm sure I wasn't the only one concerned and that many prayers for you and yours were said when your Sunday post wasn't there.(I don't do Facebook much.) I pray you make a swift recovery. Looking forward to your MWTW post. Blessings, Bess

  5. Dear Brenda, I hope you feel much better very soon, and give yourself time to recover! I have BPPV, a vertigo because of a condition in my right ear, but have learned how to move my head so that it ends quickly, and often does not even get to begin.....I wish yours would be handled so easily because that nauseated dizzy feeling is rotten! Take care! Be well! Hugs from Ohio.

    Dear Brenda,
Take care and God bless you and speed your recovery. I have enjoyed all of your writings and really missed your Saturday and Sunday posts. It really has been quite a record year for snow and freezing cold; Sunday morning was another windy and chilly trip to church with my husband but we were glad we went. We will pray for your health.

  13. Ick. I'd say "loopy on the couch" beats "room spinning" any day! My daughter experiences vertigo from time to time, but we are beginning to notice that it is about the same time every year. Allergies, maybe?

May your recovery time be restful and restorative...and short!

I only had one bout with vertigo years ago. But it is no fun. Hope you feel better real soon.

  15. Oh no, hope you get well soon. Vertigo, ick. I only have then when I'm on the Great Lakes in any kind of water. It is worse around a weather front...foretold with an ear ache (that I never had as a child).

After trying everything, I ended up with Transderm Scop....a little patch you put behind your ear (lasts for 72 hours if needed). completely solved my problem. It doesn't cause a total wipe out that some of the other drugs do.

And regardless of what the doctors say, I totally believe that sinus and ear issues are connected to weather changes.

  19. When vertigo comes to visit it is quite unwelcome! I know this to be true. Take care of yourself--wishing for better days ahead. ♥

I have had vertigo off and on now for a year. Just woke up last night with the room spinning - so I really understand what you are talking about! I never heard anything about it being weather related but I think I'm going to keep track of that. Take care - we're all in this together. : ) Mary
