Self Isolation Update

I thought I would send a hello to all of you while I have Internet service.  It has been slow for a lot of rural DSL users since people are home and online.  DSL is kind of the old party line equivalent of phones I believe... or so it seems that way.

I am finding ways to take advantage of being home for long periods of time.  Otherwise, it is an opportunity to read or watch a TV show in the daytime without any guilt whatsoever.  I was a little guilty about baking a cake yesterday but I froze half of it so the temptation would not remain but a few days.

I shared a photo of these flowers on IG this morning.  Aren't they beautiful?  They were sent yesterday from my friend and former neighbor.  Our boys were children together and her twins are still friends with Christopher.  She dropped extra soup and bread off here a few days ago, I met her as she drove up so we could social distance (a phrase which has become a verb).

She decided to send flowers to friends during this time to support a local business.  Brilliant!  What a good idea. After I took this photo, I divided the bouquet into three vases to enjoy in different parts of the house.

We are fine.  Well, I am but my husband is climbing the walls already.  Our voluntary self isolation is now a state mandatory isolation.  We each made a trip to a grocery store wearing a mask earlier this week, me one day and my husband the next day.  Since there are now limitations on the amount of food one can purchase, I was able to find everything I needed that the stores had been out of before.

Being in a high risk category, the self isolation will continue unless there are unusual circumstances.  I'll be back on Saturday!

This self isolation becomes tedious, for me it has been two weeks, because of my age. My sons are taking turns bringing me groceries and we chat outside my house. Then I need to wipe down the cans etc. before putting them away. Happily the rules by the governor of California allow me to walk my dog, so we go out as always to patrol the neighborhood. Bounce thinks that is his job (smile). Be well my friend.

Maybe hubby can take long walks? It’s harder for some to be content with having to be home for long periods of time.

What a thoughtful friend! Smart to divide them to have around the house! That’ll cheer you!

I'm enjoying the quiet times to read and craft, but I am worried about my adult children who live in Chicago and Austin :( A mother's heart, I know you will understand. The flowers are beautiful! What a thoughtful friend. My husband is also antsy, but keeping busy with yard work and honey do list :) Take good care of yourself Miss Brenda. Thank you for posting a photo of those gorgeous blooms.

This bug will be gone eventually and hopefully we'll be back to normal. Take care.

Those flowers are so beautiful! Be well, Brenda, and stay safe! We who love to read are especially blessed just now, I think...

What a sweet friend to share both food and flowers. As the days go on, it is easy to become a bit antsy. Usually, a quick walk outside around the house takes care of it when it happens to me. I am going back upstairs today to tackle another section. Eventually, it’ll get done. Right? 🤓 I listen to Christian programming so I rather enjoy the process.

Am getting Feedly to work on my phone so I can keep caught up. Love that your friend sent flowers! Have just eaten the last piece of donut cake for breakfast. Ha ha! What times!

What lovely flowers! It's odd - most of us long for more time off work so that we can catch up with things at home - but now that we have that - we want out! I'm trying to get into some sort of routine but some days are better than others.

Stay safe and well.
