Happy Thanksgiving

The scene from my front porch over the weekend!

Wishing everyone in the United States a very Happy Thanksgiving.  There has been such anticipation leading up to the Holiday this year.  I think we all need to give Thanks to the One who created us.  Thanksgiving to me will always be about food and fellowship and never ever about shopping.

We have been slowly but surely getting ready for company and for the Thanksgiving feast.  I am very thankful that my daughter-in-law and her mom are going to bring part of the dinner.  Everything I need to make ahead of time is done and the house looks... okay.  Not perfect but then again it never does.

I doubt anyone will notice the kitchen floor did not get washed or some of the furniture was not dusted.  I didn't get all the baking done I had planned.  But there is more than enough food.

The big snowfall set us back in getting the front porch ready for not only the Holiday but the cold weather.  It looked more like Christmas than Thanksgiving week.  But it was quite beautiful as the scene above shows when the snow had been falling about four or five hours.  It turned so cold (our windchill was in the single digits Sunday morning!) that the snow is still melting in the shady areas of the forest as I write on Wednesday.

So I send out a heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving!  I am still way behind on emails.  I may never get caught up.  But I care about each and every blog friend!

What a lovely scene - I can almost hear the quiet.

May your Thanksgiving Feast be a foretaste of the 'Great Banquet' to come!

Thank you for bringing such helpful insights in each post. I have learned much and pray you have a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving. I am sure the east will be getting some of the white soon now!

I hope you had a wonderful day. Ours was good and blessed also. But I envy your snow! Here in NC, we only get that in January and February if at all. :( Your blog is such a constant blessing.

Lovely photo! Enjoy seeing your Instagram photos also. So good of you to ask for help with the other dishes on the Big Day. I appreciate when I'm able to bring a dish to another's house, makes me think I'm helping/participating in some small way also.

What a truly lovely snowfall you had! WOW- it does get one in the mood for Christmas, does it not? : - )

Hope all went well for your Thanksgiving. Our did, too. Glad it's over, I am so ready to finish my holiday decorating! I have to be doing it in stages this year, I over-did it on Thanksgiving and I got too tired and sore! (Getting older is a blessing and a curse, haha.)

Have a wonderful day! Hugs! ♥
