On the kitchen area bookshelves...

Added note:  Always in the basket are the cookbooks from which I am researching recipes at the moment.

I was asked what books are in the kitchen bookshelves.  I figured a little show is easier than tell at the moment.  These are the cookbooks in my 30+ years of collecting.  I gave my gourmet style cookbooks to the library for their sales long ago...

Oh, that red bookshelf was in my husband's room when he grew up.  I think it amusing that it is painted red as that is not a color his family ever decorated with.  So it had to be used when it came to be in his bedroom. Perhaps the shelf knew it was coming to me someday?  ;)

I'd say three-fourths of these books were purchased used, some were gifts, and only a few did I pay full price.

These pics do not show absolutely every cookbook... but most of them.

One of my favorite things to see is what is on peoples' bookshelves :) I see many familiar and favorite titles here :)

Tuesday when the roads were icy and I stayed home from work here in East Texas, I spent a good bit of the day looking thru cookbooks and marking on a front page page numbers of recipes I would like to try. It was a pleasnt day inside with the fire going and nothing pressing to do. An iced in day can be a good thing once every three of four years. Blessings, Sharon D.

Oh my, do I have book envy!!!! Four Susan Branch and 2 John Hadamuscin books, what treasures! I also saw some Gooseberry Patch in there, from my home State of Ohio.

The cookbooks are lovely. I can hear them asking you to read and cook. Old cookbooks are divine. I have tucked all of my most-used cookbooks away under my counter. Your cheery, red, hubby's shelves have me dreaming of some tweaking of my own.

Have a lovely day and stay warm.

I'm always curious to see what is on a friend's bookshelf - maybe I should say, "snoopy."

It makes sense that your cookbooks are on red shelf as it is a cozy color accent in your house. Yes, it seems the shelf was destined for you.
The bookshelf in my office I painted pink long ago - for a young daughter's bedroom. Our cookbooks are on a yellow pantry shelf. I appreciate color this time of year, don't you?

Oh I love your collection!!! So many wonderful ones! I must start collecting more of Susan Branch's books for sure. All my friends are loving her Fine Romance book. I'm SO glad I bought that.

You know I love your red!

And your cookbooks! What a lovely collection. Many I am not familiar with, but I am familiar with some of them.

I am off to look up John Hadamuscin.

What a great cookbook collection! I keep mine on a shelf inside a kitchen cabinet over the microwave, so I got rid of ones I don't use. I mostly use Southern Living's 30 Years of our Best Recipes and also Mad Hungry. Other than that, it's church recipe books usually. Happy cooking!
