Some more decorating of the house for Christmas...

I love seeing old "friends" each year.  :)

I made this when Christopher was a baby... one of my "Biblically incorrect" angels.  :)
This was stitched when Stephanie was a baby...
A gift from Stephanie long ago...
Another "Biblically incorrect" angel...  I think Stephanie has my other one like this.
This lovely lady is out all year but is in a place of prominence in December...
The three snowmen together in the middle were made by a dear friend...
One of our favorite Christmas displays... seen from a distance in previous photo.
I wasn't going to put out many decorations but I kept finding old friends.  I made some of the decorations and others were gifts but by far most came from thrift shops and garage sales.  Sometimes it is a good thing to be looking for Christmas in July.  :)

I will share more on another day.

How lovely! I am coveting the little log cabin ;-)
I am halfway thru "Winter Solstice" and am enjoying it but you were right about the character's view of God. Apart from that she is very similar to Goudge. Stay cozy, Dee/MN

Lovely!! Beautiful close up photos! The log cabin is Adorable! As are the Teddy Bear angels, snowmen and handmade ornaments. Also love the lttile porcelain angel on the tree. She looks like she's from the '50's? I Just finished decorating my house today! Whew! I always forget how much work it is, that is, until it's time to take it all down again! Ha! I know what you mean about them being like "old friends". I feel that way, too, especially with those I inherited from my Mom. That's what makes decorating fun as well as meaningful, I think.
Thanks So much for sharing more photos! I Love it!
Blessings,
Laura C.from WA

Your little cabin in the woods with a kitty in the window is so cute! Your discovery is why I tried not to open many boxes because every time I did, I found "an old friend."

Brenda,

You are very talented to have made the angel in the pretty red gingham and the needlepoint. (In MD)

Hi Brenda! LOL - a red gingham angel - perhaps unconventional as you say. So many treasures through the years. I like how you call them "old friends" - and YES - thrifting for Christmas decor through the years has yielded some of my favorite picks!
Joy!

I love 'memory' ornaments! I have TONS! Some - MOST! - are mine. But I like to collect those I find at the thrift stores and Goodwills. They deserve a good home and admiration as well.

I love Rosamund Pilcher and her book Winter Soltice. Wish she was still writing. I loved ALL her books! And her son, Robin!

Oh, I like the pleasantly plump snowmen. I nod to "old friends" when I see them at my married daughters' houses. But I haven't given all of them away. There are just enough here to keep me company and put me in a state of nostalgia.
