When life is messy...

Well, I'm always finding that life is far from perfect and instead of writing today I went to the laundromat to dry my clothes (the dryer broke last week and we have not installed the clothesline outside, yet) while a sink full of dishes from two days soaked in sudsy water to do when I arrived home.

I'd asked Hubby to pick up a half gallon of milk, butter, and eggs when he went to the grocery store yesterday.  He came home with everything but those three.  Usually that type of thing would make one roll their eyes and mumble something about "men" but in his case I knew it meant he had forgotten two conversations in which we talked about these three items... so he had been working far too hard recently!

But we are also thankful for the handy man jobs that came in after two expensive car repairs.  Things break down in this most fallen of all worlds including one's memory.

So... in between drying the clothes and doing the dishes, I stopped by Kroger for the much needed items.  No veggies were on clearance but a package of three heads of romaine lettuce was only $1.99 so it joined the others in the cart.

I will see if I can find out what the red, white, and blue flowers are called.  They were purchased "as is" on a special pre-Memorial day price at Menard's.  Their version of a patriotic flower arrangement.

You wouldn't want to see them right now.  With one storm after another this week, some of my deck flowers look like they have been through a war... and in a way they have!  I'm sure they will blossom again once we have nice weather.

Oh, I'll still be here even after the Google Reader is gone for it does not affect the blog at all.  Except I'm sure I will lose some of the nearly 800 subscribers who, like me, are not transferring all of the blogs they read in one lump sum.

The dinner dishes are soaking and Hubby needs his computer.  But I'm happy to check in again, even if to whine about the obvious... life is messy!

Yup, a very messy day, too. I love how you looked beyond your hubby's forgetfulness to the fact he's been working too hard. Such sweetness, love, and grace... I had some yellow flowers I had no idea of what they were until I saw them on another blog. Another reason to love Blogdom. I still can't figure out if the followers are going along with the reader. I suppose they are. I came late to that party, but I'm certainly going to miss them!

The flowers look like very nice Verbena...And I sympathize with forgetting things! I have a friend who says, "Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most." I often feel the same! Your mental state of mind sounds very good for all the messiness of life, Brenda! Peace be with you!(As I know it is.)

I hope your clothes line gets hung up soon, though with all the rain you've had (and us too here) they would be wet all the time, instead of drying!

Glad you were able to get some good romaine lettuce. Our lettuce is doing pretty well here. All the cool weather up 'til now.

The weather here is hot, hot, hot! Oh, and steamy let's not forget that part!

I'm off to sleep now!

Night!

I don't often leave comments, but I want you to know, Brenda, that you are one of two blogs that I check every day. You have become a friend to me, and I relate so often to what you have written. You challenge me in my Christian life, and you encourage me in my marriage and in my life as a homemaker and mother of three daughters. Thank you.

I don't understand how to fix this blog thing! I have a lot of blogs saved as bookmarks. Will I still be able to read them?

Brenda,

I am so glad you are still going to blog. I read your blog mostly every week. I only have time for these things on the weekend. But the short amount of time (about 8 months) I've been reading your blog, I have been encouraged, challenged & so amused by your humor. I also learn from you by the books you read & your sharing of how the Lord has taken care of you & your family & has lead you. Thanks again for continuing.
