Sunday Afternoon Tea Kinda'

I've been a little out of pocket lately, mostly due to outdoor chores, out-of-town family visiting, and a couple writing responsibilities that needed to be accomplished.  However, I am sad to say I'll be around a little less because...

My Computer Died!!!

As I told my husband, the life support plug had to be removed and I said my goodbyes.  It had been a good and faithful laptop, a gift which I will forever be grateful for.   I will be using his desktop computer as it is available.  There will also be less pictures for awhile.

Did you ever have one of those seasons you go through when it seems everything is breaking down?  We have before and I know it was a year or two ago when my daughter and son-in-law had one repair after another.

For us recently, the car spent a week in the shop for a major repair, our lawnmower finally died (it gave us trouble last fall), and the laptop decided it could no longer function.  All within a week and a half...

Although... we were given another lawnmower, when a family member found out ours had stopped working.  They had one they were not using.  It was one of those God Winks in which the subject was even brought up and the timing perfect!

Another blessing received recently, you may remember that my husband is doing some work for an elderly couple from church who have an organic farm (he's helping them and will get paid in produce when it is available).  They loaned him a great power hedge trimmer and he's already cut back one set of hedges, will finish the other soon.  The power trimmer is heavy enough he has to use it but it will save me about two weeks off and on of clipping them with the hand tool.

I'm hoping to get the soil in the raised beds ready and planting done soon.  The herb bed is just beginning to show a lot of growth, it has been so cool and damp.  The dogwood is starting to bloom and the crab apple tree has been blooming and giving us a sweet scent for about a week.

Spring truly is here.

So sorry, Brenda, and I commiserate because my died this past Sunday night with my week's lessons plans on it. :( I had already gotten a new one but was trying to wait until summer to get familiar with it. Instead........!

Speaking of things breaking down, a colleague of mine said the same thing about breakdowns one after the other. She found out this week that she needs bifocals, a hysterectomy, and a cavity filled. She was joking about all her bodily machinery breaking down!

Spring? It's more like summer here today. Beautiful weather after the winter.

Sorry about your computor. Could you use one at the library?

Hi Brenda, so sorry that you're out of a computer for awhile. Will miss your commentary and updates. It's barely spring around here--so chilly. One statistic said it's the 2nd coldest spring in VA ever. We don't have our garden beds prepared yet--maybe after all my mom's medical adventures are over we can get a routine going. Thanks for your post.

It does seem to happen all at once often!

So sorry about your laptop! They don't seem to last as long as they used to. Mine died a little over a year ago and the replacement decided to go black yesterday and need three reboots to start. I'm sure it's just the beginning of the end.

It's great that you were able to get another lawn mower - maybe someone will have an extra older laptop they don't need?

I'm so sorry to hear about your computer.
Yes, there seem to be these seasons - my washing machine in January, my dishwasher in April and an increasingly problematic lap-top over recent months. Replacing the washing machine seemed necessary, but the others...
BUT the sun is shining and the gardens' glorious, filling my heart with gladness today!

I read about this sharing yesterday I think...

It does seem that things break down all at once...as if something catchy is floating around. John's car is down, the plumbing is wonky, and I'm waiting to see what the next thing might be, though I should not do that. I probably am getting what I'm expecting. ☺

I am praying for you to have a new lap top of your very own. Somehow. Some way. If anyone needs her own, it's you!
