I'm over at Mom Heart today with a subject near and dear to my heart.
I do believe in today's culture, the value of great books is overlooked. Teachers so often have to "teach for the test" that there is little time for reading whole books.
But parents and grandparents can curl up with kids on a cushy couch and all can be transported to the magical land of words. :)

I read your article and say Amen to your words. As a Christian, librarian and writer I know how precious the great books are and how they can influence the readers for good. C.S. Lewis suggested we read one classic book for each newer book we read, a good rule of thumb.
