Brrrr...

The great furry huntress, even if only in her imagination...

The windchill right now is -12.   After a record high of 65 earlier in the week, I am really feeling this cold weather.

Victoria is once again sitting on her little rocking chair, looking out toward the deck and the backyard.  There is a flock of little birds all cuddled together in a large bush near the fence.  She seems to think one of them will come near enough to pounce upon... and being an overly optimistic kitty... she chooses to forget the window in the french door to the deck.

We use to tell Sasha and Storm (our beloved elderly sister kitties who passed away a few years ago) that they would not know what to do with a bird even if they did catch one.  Victoria, on the other hand, would...  don't let that lovely face fool you. Within her is the soul of a hunter.  ;)

The comment about me finishing all my To Do list made me smile.  After about fourteen years now of living with a chronic illness, I have learned to write out a daily To Do list which is within reasonable limits, hehehe.

On the days I have more energy, the list is longer.  Recently the list has been simply a couple loads of laundry, meals, dishes (always more dishes), and perhaps a little decorating by tweaking here and there.  Which is also why there are about twelve flagged e-mails waiting for a reply.

I'm always exhausted by dinner time but I've learned if I immediately let the dinner dishes take a bath in very hot, soapy water... by the time I've rested a bit the water is not as hot and the dishes are easy to wash.

Then I can curl up on the sofa with a feeling of great accomplishment as we have been fed, have clean clothing, and the house is relatively clutter free (unless one of us is in the midst of a creative project... which is not clutter but Art).

Oh, by request... I've put the Scrapbook Journal page link back under the Header.  If you click on it, it will bring up the page that has a link to the Scrapbook Journal archives.

I had removed a couple page links during the Holidays to give me more room.  Come to think of it, this would be the perfect day to work on my Scrapbook Journal so perhaps a new post will be coming soon... no promises but possible.

We have warmed up to a minus 19 wind chill! It was minus 32 last night with an actual temperature of minus 13. I'm ready for spring, how about you?

Victoria kitty is so cute in her little chair! Don't kitties just love sunshine. Well, I do too but I'm not going to lie down on the floor to catch the rays like my kitties do. :o) Have a most lovely weekend! Bess

Thank-you So much for posting the link to your scrapbook journals!! I'm really enjoying seeing and reading them again! They' ve inspired me all over again! It's perfect for a winter time project. I had a cigar box full of snippets I'd cut out out and saved since the 80's and 90's, so it's fun to finally do something with them, adding favorite quotes, musings, etc. I never realized it was something others liked to do, too! I already love traditional scrap booking, so this is a fun side project and more personal.
Thanks again! Stay warm & cozy!
Hugs and Blessings,
Laura C. ( from WA)

Now that was a lovely rabbit trail! In fact, I have just been proving to John that I actually do this in my own way. He was suitably impressed. (It doesn't take much!) That's a place that I want to revisit to thank you for the easy access.

The temps there sound brutal. Much worse than here. All that promised snow slipped off south of us. My feelings are so hurt...NOT! =D

We are cold again too, but not as cold as that! Woo wee!

I like to call these kinds of days, Puttering days. A bit of daily work and a bit of decorating or baking or sewing....

I've enjoyed a bit of these kinds of days recently. Storing up the pleasure of it before my life gets busy again!

It's cold here, but I think it's colder where you are....Brenda, KEEP WARM! Well, I know you are. Inside and out. Inside one keeps warm with warm ideas like the ones from scrap books and good reading. Victoria is very fun to see in her rocking chair dreaming dreams of a predatory nature. (But it's her nature!)

Brenda,
I want you to know how much I enjoy getting your blog updates in my email. You have such a lovely and peaceful blog. Thanks for sharing. And keep warm! I'm down in Texas, so we don't have much cold weather here. Sometimes I wish we did, because I love sitting around the fire at night with the family. I also love cats, and I have four. So I really enjoy your Victoria updates! Have a great weekend!
