Post Holiday tweaking... |
Today I feel much like a young doe trying to walk for the first time. Everything I do is rather shaky and in slow motion. I'm still feeling cruddy but up and around a little more. At least I could turn the computer on today and a load of laundry is manageable.
However, anything requiring much thought is still on hold... like answering e-mails, snail mail, and my usual blog post.
The news media have been reporting a "bug" going around that has symptoms of a combination cold-flu and that is exactly how I feel... much worse than just a cold but not as bad as influenza.
Oh, I was able to stay alert last night to watch the new season of Downton Abbey. My favorite parts? The delicious zingers tossed at each other between the two family Matriarchs, hehehe.
I'm looking forward to writing again but in the meantime, my daughter has a new post about ponderings in the new year... here. It is beautifully written in my... ummm... unbiased opinion. ;)
My friend, Sally Clarkson, has a new book coming out this week, co-written with Sarah Mae. I was privileged to read a rough draft copy and it is quite good. The book, called Desperate, is featured on I Take Joy... here. There are numerous giveaway offers with the launch of the book.
I will be back soon but in the meantime, I need a nap. My pillow has become a very valued object lately.

I hope you continue to improve! Can't wait to read Sally's newest book! I know it will be good! Have just suggested that my library purchase it. Will enjoy reading Stephanie's post.
Get well soon, Brenda! Until then, hug that pillow as much as you need.
We are fighting a bug here too. It seems to be all over the country. Hope you feel better soon.
Hope you're feeling much better very soon, Brenda! These "bugs" are no fun! Several of my friends have been ill, but so far I've been fortunate.
Love "Downton Abbey"!Season 3 certainly got off to an exciting start, didn't it? The Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) and Anna are my favorite characters. Should be an interesting season with all those various stories going on!
Dear Brenda, Keep on feeling better and finding more energy. I'm off to read your daughter's blog now. My daughters discount any good thing I have to say about them as biased because, "You're my Mom!" So aggravating when, of course, I'm completely objective.
Oh wasn't it deliciously snarky? Oh my. And the singing of "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" had me in stitches. They are both such good actresses.
Now you are doing pretty well in the drama department yourself...this is no way to begin a New Year so don't do too much laundry. Lie low until you feel that you can't do it anymore. I think a bed and a pillow is calling my name as well. I'm feeling very achy having been up and down stairs all day with Christmas.
Wishing you well, hope you are feeling better very soon.
I know how you feel. This bug has me feeling all woozy and nauseous too.
Get well soon.
I read your daughter's New Year's post. You're right. It is very well written. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today. Take lots of tea breaks!

Brenda, hello! I'm still here, still reading. Thank you for sending us over to your daughter's post. She is a beautiful reflection of God and of you. Praying for your health. Loved seeing all the pretty pics of Victoria recetnly. XO
Glad you are on the mend. Don't overdo it. Sending a get well hug.
Laura
Hi Brenda we have it here too. Ugh. I have been sick with one thing or the other for a month and that is very unusual for me. My theory is we need a good hard freeze! Hoping you feel well soon! Dee
