Brrrr... it's cold outside! The windchill is -11 and the actual temperature is 2 degrees. Such weather has me dreaming of spring.
I should stay inside where it is warm and cozy but my Tookish side is taking me into town.
Decorating
I used a little Christmas money to purchase the square vintage picnic basket (which is actually, I think, a cake-pie carrier). It was such a great price at my favorite antique mall, I had to look twice at the tag!
Love the way it looks on the two vintage baskets I already used to store magazines. Come warmer weather, I will place a live plant on top of the trio but it's too cold there now.
Beauty
I know, I said I probably would not show anymore Christmas pictures but how can one not share such beauty?
Reading
Watching
Her Victoria-ness
I put the vintage child's rocker back in the family room where it took about five minutes for Victoria to re-claim it as her favorite place to watch squirrels, birds, and the neighbor's dog.
I've also been moving around items in the kitchen to make it look less cluttered and still have plenty of storage space. Pictures to follow... Stephanie (who was a kitchen designer) and I have agreed the perfect solution is built-in storage along the wall that has none... but barring an HGTV makeover... that is not happening.
So I do the second best and decorate by tweaking.

You and I are dreaming of the very same thing...a storage wall. I managed to convey my opinion to the carpenter, but he was strangely quiet, which does not bode well for that happening any time soon.
I tweak the same way you do and usually it is satisfying.
Love your stack of picnic baskets. Lots of storage, great look...win-win!
I have last year's poinsettia...just green leaves now and I'm not going to chuck it until it croaks.
Great baskets! Love them for storage. I have one on my dresser and it stores my hair dryer and curling iron.
I am a tweaker as well. Do a bit of that everywhere!
Stay warm!

Just love that cat, she is adorable.
Your word "tweaking" is the perfect word for such decorating. Now I have a word to use if/when my husband asks me what I'm doing. "I'm tweaking," I'll tell him.
I like your wing chair in a soft blue fabric placed beside a full shelf of books. It is an inviting combination.

Tweaking is a favorite pastime of mine!
I agree with Vee, I can't throw out a plant until it "croaks" either!
Your poinsettia is beautiful.
Hi Brenda;
I love your pics!! Especially Miss Victoria, she is indeed a princess! The baskets look fantastic, I wish I was that creative! Have a great evening. Love and Hugs, Nana
Enjoyed this post, as always. I had to do some "tweaking" myself after taking down all the Christmas decor, to keep the house from looking too bare. Kinda fun changing things up a bit. Love seeing what you do! Victoria is precious in her very own little chair by the window! How cute is that! Brrr.... It 's frigid where you are!! We're just now coming out of a week of freezing fog for the last week. Actually saw some sunshine today! :) That was a blessing!
Take care and stay warm! Thanks for sharing your world with us!
Hugs and Blessings,

Great use of the baskets, your new one sure is nice, glad you were able to get a good deal.
I like how you put the picture of your Kindle and the book you're reading for us. I just received a Kindle for Christmas, and so I'm getting all the free books I can: the only problem, I can't remember what they all are when I think about reading the next one. In the meantime I copy the picture from my free sources and paste it in my picture file to make a hard copy of the pictures later. Any ideas as to how to keep a list of the new books to read without going into the Kindle and looking each time?
I've been tweaking, too, and decluttering. Two bags of clothes -- in sizes I'll never see again -- are gone tomorrow to Goodwill. It's nippy here, but almost balmy compared to your temperatures. Keep cozy!
The vintage baskets are beautiful - I am glad you found such a lovely purchase for the right price.
Your world is wonderful! The square basket is beautiful. But what is as satisfying in a home as a bookshelf filled with well loved books. Nothing! Or only a few things.
Thanks for that other title about Founding Foodies -- have just requested it from the library. Will see what it is like. Hoping to get a chance to watch the current episode of Downton Abbey this week too!
Good Morning Brenda,
I loved your post your home is so cozy. Cozy is the highest compliment that I can give a home. I loved the picture of the blue chair in front of the books. It made me want to snuggle in and read. Have a warm cozy day.

Always my favorite post Brenda!
I just love the stacked baskets and Victoria looks too cute in "her" chair!
I thought I'd find the potato pancake mix in the Kosher section but haven't been to the grocery store since that post. I'm going next week and will have a look at it.
The picnic baskets? I love the impact that they make stacked together, and you use them for storage! Brava!
A wall of shelving in our kitchen has been a dream of mine for a while. It may become reality this year, Lord willing, due to a new salvage store/ministry in our area. I just love the place. Run by some dear people with hearts for the lost and the homeless. LOT 2540 is the store name (think Matthew 25:40-"Least Of These.)
In His Grace,
Michelle
