My World this Week

A new kitchen calendar...

This is the last My World this Week which will include some Holiday pictures until next Christmas.

At least I think... leaving options open.  ;)

Reading
Loving every one of these books, I'll write more about them in another post...

Watching
A Christmas gift from one who knows me well, I love gardens and mysteries... perfect!

Old Friends
This snowman cookie jar was a gift from my friend, Sheila, when our boys were little!

Feasting
We used a gift card for our traditional Cracker Barrel breakfast... yum!

I surprised Hubby with homemade pecans rolls Christmas morning... recipe soon!

Celebrating
The Christmas Eve table set with my wedding china... Melissa by Noritake

Helping
I had a lot of help cleaning out and organizing Christmas boxes, as you can see...

Right now I'm in the midst of a belated Christmas cold... achoo!  Heading back to the sofa with hot tea and tissues.

Awwww...that was going so well until that final achoo. Feel better soon. You do well to guarantee no more Christmas until the next one. Do you find it as comforting as I that years begin and end with Christmas? The calendar is perfect for your kitchen. So happy that you and your hubby enjoyed a Cracker Barrel breakfast!

Your Christmas Eve place setting is beautiful. And love the calendar. I love chickens in the kitchen. Hope you will reconsider on My World This Week. I love the miscellaneous posts. Hope you are better soon and have a wonderful year.
Blessings, Sharon D.

If our cat was as fun as yours appears to be I might like cats. Ours is a one-person cat and the one person is not me. Our little Schnauzer makes up for it however. I was happy to see your neighbor's barn picture for your heading again. It is so lovely and you have the beauty of it without the work of up-keep. You are blessed to live where you do in your cozy little environment. And we are blessed to read your lovely posts. Happy new year, Brenda.

Happy New Year!!! Those books look good! So does that breakfast at Cracker Barrel -- now I am hungry. :) Have just completed school planning for the next month. I was all excited.....now I'm wondering if my kids are learning anything! ha ha ha! At least I'm learning! I hope your cold goes away quickly.

Ah! the packing away of Christmas ornaments - it always feels like a job well done.

Rug up, take care -I hope tea and rest take care of the cold.

I read Call the Midwife this summer. It's amazing!
Hope you feel better soon - glad you get to enjoy tea & a sofa while you recover!
Blessings.

Love your day!

I had your wedding china long ago! I had to sell it for something else -- like having a little Airman! LOL It is so pretty, isn't it??

Feel better and rest, rest, rest!

One day closer to spring, you know...

Much enjoyed your pictorial post, Brenda. I'm not too fond of roosters...but I LOVE those LANG calendars, and yours looks good in your kitchen. I have one of the Linda Stokes Nelson ones for 2013 and know I will enjoy it.

Thanks for the mention of Rosemary and Thyme. I just put them on hold at our local library. All 3 series were in, and I love mysteries and gardens, too. So I look forward to seeing them soon.

Love Rosemary & Thyme ... have watched all I could on Netflix when we had it. Hope to get the DVDs someday. (Don't like to read mysteries, but will watch them if the scenery, characters, etc. are intriguing!) I also love the Mapp & Lucia series.

Also: Have you seen Pam Ferris as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda? I barely recognized her, after watching her in Rosemary & Thyme.

Please don't forget the recipe for the pecan rolls! They look delicious!

I think you're going to love Rosemary & Thyme! It took me a while to get used to an older Felicity Kendall since I'm used to her from The Good Neighbors show.

That breakfast makes me want to go to Cracker Barrel! Too bad you have to go through the store to get to the restaurant - that place is always such a temptation!

Love the rooster calendar and dish!

It's nice to have such a cute helper!

We, unfortunately, after watching 15 min of the dvds decided that some of the language and scenarios depicted didn't quite live up to "true, honest, just, pure, lovely." It's a shame...I love mysteries, and two ladies working together would have been fun to watch. Oh well. We'll keep trying...

Stumbled on Rosemary and Thyme at the library a couple years ago - loved them!! Wish there were more. Always appreciate your posts - even if I rarely, if ever, comment. Blessed New Year!

Have you been viewing Call the Midwife on PBS? It's good! I didn't know it was a book, too. Can't wait to read it.
