Homeschooling apps...

Stephanie shares her favorite apps on her blog
I want to write a couple homeschool posts soon but if the weather turns cooler as predicted, my "extra" time will be spent in the garage doing some much needed organizing!  I have to take advantage of those rare heat free days this summer.

In the meantime, Stephanie has written a post on her blog about her favorite iPad apps which she uses for her older kids.  It can be found... here.  There are lots of great ideas!

Sigh... I remember when I was excited when a video came out I could use for homeschooling!

Christopher is designing an app for homeschoolers (per his sisters request) for his Computer Science Senior project.  I will let you know when it is available.  His professor said it is one of the best Senior projects he has ever seen.

My son was certainly blessed by God with the ability to think in code!  He also received advice from Mrs. Christopher from an education perspective.  She was homeschooled until college and then received a degree in Education.

It is really hot today but we had a lovely, soaking rain over the weekend.  It was the most rain we've received since January!  While not enough to save most crops or my garden, it hopefully helped to save some of the smaller trees in the area.  The drought became scary when the forest started dying.  Yikes!

So glad to know that you have received some rain.

Apps...I almost don't know if you're speaking English. One can get woefully behind the times in just a few short months at the rate things are going. Sounds as if Mr. and Mrs. Christopher make a great team. Very cool.

Off to read at Stephanie's. I may be able to pass along info, though I'd not be able to use it for myself.

I am thankful for your rain!

Will Christopher's apps work on iphone and ipod touch? I am looking into some apps for these devices that we already have. Great to use technology.

I am thankful for his brain's ability to think in code, too. Where would we be without these kinds of minds.

So cool that the new Mr. and Mrs. are able to use their gifts and talents to help each other!

Somehow, I didn't realize that Stephanie was also home schooled. I think it is a great way to have a superior education when the parents are both smart and dedicated. Good for Christopher, designing this app! And now, like Vee, I'm off to read Stephanie's blog.

p.s. Looking at the picture of Stephanie in front of the phone booth in the UK reminded me that I read recently on another blog that right now in the UK when a British athlete wins a gold medal in the Olympics, they are painting a phone booth in his/her hometown gold in his/her honor. Such a cool idea.

Thanks so much for the list of apps for the I-Pad. I got the Paperless one to keep a running list of items needed from the grocery store. I just hope that I will grab the I-Pad when my husband or I find that we need something to complete a recipe. Thanks for your visit to my blog.
Love,
Marie

I'm a bit behind in reading and catching up with my blog list. I follow you on "google reader." Thanks so much for the app recommendations. Very helpful for this grandma. The Peterson Bird app will be enjoyed by all.
