A Downton Abbey reading list

Sun shining through the Dogwood tree

I have been setting my alarm each morning to awake an hour earlier than usual.  It's part of my efforts to improve body and mind this Spring.  Soon I will be slipping on my walking clothes and putting the ear buds of the itty bitty iPod in to enjoy favorite music while exercising.

Isn't this picture pretty?  The Dogwood tree is now in its' last stages of bloom.  Yesterday I continued my "little at a time" lawn and garden work by pulling weeds from under the Dogwood.

Just my way of thanking the beautiful tree for giving me such joy this season.  Hmmm... I guess I am a tree hugger in my own way and I'm married to a guy with a Master's in Forestry.   We love trees.  ;)

Today I want to send you over to my friend Heather's blog (she is one of my "blog daughters").  I love the reading list Downton Abbey inspired, she has a fabulous list of books... here.   She also creates gorgeous felted flowers and other pretty things.

Oh, yes... I decided to put the zinnia header back just because it makes me happy.  Zinnias were my father's favorite flowers and I love them, too.

Good morning! I'm just about ready to take my dogs for their walks. ("walks" because I can't take them together just yet. The little one needs a bit more training). I love your zinnia header! The other one is lovely too, but the zinnias are just so cheerful. I'm wishing I bought seed for zinnias in assorted colors instead of just red. Maybe next year...Have a great day!

Love, love, love the zinnia header. Makes me happy, too! : )
I grow them on the roadside of my garden out back every year simply because they make me smile.
I love to photograph them as well.
I love color!

Happy Gardening!

(Heading over to check out the list. I have only viewed one episode of Downton Abbey, and I can't wait to view more!)

Thanks for the heads up on that marvelous reading list! I just received as a gift the complete set of DVDs, the music CD, and the book "The Word of Downton Abbey". It will be great fun to track down some of the other related books!

You caught the dogwood in a lovely pose!

Hi dear Brenda,

Good for YOU!! Keep walking and weeding. I do the small bites garden approach too. Just a little bit a day really adds up.

Thank you, Ms. Brenda! I love making (and eating!) healthy food so I'm happy to be of service. :) Mehh, no, I'm sure Type 1 diabetes is especially difficult when it comes to meals. How have you been feeling lately?

:D And I have a loverly bloggy grandmother...I always imagine curling up in your cozy, inviting house for a good chat and a cup of tea when I think of you!

Ah, that book list sounds delightful. I'm looking forward to having spare time to read again once school lets up. Beautiful zinnia picture!

A little at a time is such a good word because it will eventually get done whatever "it" is if tackled a little at a time. I need to employ this method STAT.
