I lost baby Jesus

This conversation really happened with my son when he came home for dinner a few nights ago...

Me:   I have all the Christmas decorating done but I've lost Jesus

He:   You lost Jesus?

Me:   Yes, I lost Baby Jesus

He:    Uh... you lost Baby Jesus?

Me:   Yes, I have everyone in the creche except for Baby Jesus.  Somehow I have misplaced him.  Kind of like real life, you know.  Everyone is there but Jesus.

He:    Giving his mother a look like she has finally lost it...

My creche is only an inexpensive Goodwill jobbie but it is rather unnerving to lose the baby Jesus.  I told him I hope it wasn't prophetic or anything.  He just rolled his eyes and went back to studying for his Ancient History exam.

I'm sure that Baby Jesus will turn up. The question is will it be in time? I'd consider swaddling a walnut or something in the interim. ;>

Hi Brenda, your blog is one of my favorites even though I rarely comment.
I've been doing some gift shopping on Amazon and came to your site and clicked through your widget. Is that what I need to do for you to get some credit from my shopping?

Have you looked under the furniture? My cat used to knock over and bat the smaller ornaments around-sort of kitty hockey.

Oh dear.

We have a Playmobile nativity set for my youngest daughter and the grands...and someone lost the baby Jesus several years ago. Fortunately, we had a small set that had a baby, and a substitution was made. (Hmmmmm...hoping that has no significance either!) The real baby was never found.

The tiny angel of the Lord was also lost one year...and found in July by my son-in-law who is often The Finder of Lost Things. (Hmmmmm....I hope that does not say anything about my housekeeping.)

I do hope your Baby Jesus turns up. Before July.

I have a wooden creche [from a charity shop] which has only Mary, Joseph, a wooden manger and a baby Jesus. Each time I have used it my cats steal the baby repeatedly and I find Him tucked in a corner or behind furniture.

Brenda, did you do like us? We have put things away after Christmas and said to ourselves that it was put at a place we would remember. Well, it came time to pull out the decorations and we could not remember that place that we would not forget. Ha! Baby Jesus is there and will show up when you least expect him.
I wish you and yours a wonderful Christmas season.
Love,
Marie
