Update-Wed.

This is Linda, Brenda's friend- I live across the river from her.  She gave me permission to hack her blog.  Monday night, lightening struck their house.  She had just removed her hands from the dish water, felt a tingle, then it sounded like a bomb went off, the florescent lights in kitchen exploded.  House didn't catch fire and everyone is fine.  Poor Victoria was traumatized.   (I would have been traumatized!)  It must have entered from their son's room, the fireman couldn't tell, but everything in there was fried.  Brenda didn't have her computer plugged in, her son was off with his, and her dh's is fine.  The modem is not.  (took out the landline too) It did major damage to the electrical, electrician is coming tomorrow to check it out.  They were insured and will get items replaced.  Her stove and refrig. are fine.   Our pastor is a sweet heart, they gave the gift card for meals at MCL- I thought that was great.  It is keeping her sane.  She said - Pray for her sanity.  LOL  Air Conditioning works too.  It is crazy what works and doesn't work, very unusual but we know it's the Lord, they couldn't do with out Air Conditioning.   She will come over here one day and update everyone, she doesn't know when she will be back on line.  I will read her any notes that you send.

At the same time, will offer up thanks to the Lord for protecting you and so many of your electrical items in the house! Especially the A/C!! I pray that these coming days will go smoothly and that things will be back to normal soon. So glad your computer wasn't fried! And that you are safe. God bless.

Hi Linda,

Thanks for hacking into Brenda's blog to let us know this current state of affairs. It all sounds way too exciting for me.

Tell Brenda that her sanity is in no danger since she's held in the arms of a loving God. He must've wanted some rewiring done.

Give her a gentle hug for me...

So sorry to hear about this, Brenda. I will be praying that the electrical problems can be repaired quickly and that they will be completely covered by your insurance. Glad that your family (and your computers!)was spared.

Mercy...it seems that is a terrible problem in so many areas of this country these days!! A few years ago, our neighbors across the street got hit. STILL to this day, they often smell smoke inside that house and cannot find the source. BE SO SURE you find VERY competent electrical people...maybe seek several to look it over!! Sigh...had a scary storm here today/tonight too. SO glad Brenda and family are fine and even the kitty!! Thanks for updating us here!!

Oh how blessed she is that no one was hurt. This exact thing happened to our house a few years ago. We live in Florida and even though this does happen quite often.. it had never happened to us. Our AC was hit along with the alarm system and the land line phones. No internet at home back then. Such a hassel but we (like Brenda) did have Insurance coverage (thank you Lord ) so..... I know just how she feels... and I pray that all comes together smoothly and quickly! (oh and thank you for posting for her!!) :) Terri

Just now read this -- giving thanks to God that she or no one else was injured -- thank you Lord, thank you!! Praise You right now. And so thankful that it wasn't worse -- I know it's not good, but I know it could have been so so much worse to the damage to the house, etc. Sending love and hugs from the rolling hills and mountains of East Tennessee!

Brenda - I am praying for you! I'm so thankful you were not hurt and that the things in your home can be replaced and repaired, but what a shocking experience! I remember when my grandparents home was struck by lightening and how the t.v. exploded along with every light bulb in the house - my sister and I were there for a visit and it left quite an impression on our little girl minds! It was long before computers and other electronic stuff! I hope you can get back online soon!
