Bleary eyed but loved the wedding!

The alarm went off this morning on my cell phone (so as not to awake hubby very much at 4:00) and my first thought was of starting the coffeepot!  Christopher was asleep on the sofa, awaiting my wake up call for him after only four hours of sleep.  He was on the road by 5:00 to meet his friends to continue studying for finals.

Before he left, we shared some chuckles over the guests' hats, at least the flying saucer hats... and the blue hat that was shaped something like a rhino's horn???

At least I could slowly sip my coffee, curled up on the Lazy Boy chair switching from Fox News to BBC America.  I ended up staying with BBCA until the kiss on the balcony was over.  Just liked the understated British coverage the best.

I absolutely adored this wedding!  Such pomp and circumstance, beauty, and the music... the gorgeous hymns of the Church.  The ceremony itself is so Christ honoring, too.  I am always saddened when watching these events (royal weddings or funerals) at the amount of Truth which was once a part of the very fiber of the Mother Country and now how few are among the Faithful.

If Stephanie and the little girls were here, I would have made cambric tea and have Stephanie bring her famous scones.  As it was she received cell phone texts from me while she slept soundly.  :)

Oh you're right about some of those hats. I found them quite amusing, especially the view directly behind the Queen. Prince Andrew's daughters, I believe.

Yes, the old hymns, the readings, the sermon, all very Christ honoring. Wonder how many truly listened and I wondered what some thought...

It was lovely. I didn't catch the whole thing but was so impressed with the simple beauty of her dress and the scriptures chosen. Of course the music was amazing.

I pray a very happy and long marriage for this young couple.

It was a beautiful wedding, wasn't it. I was up at 1:00 am to view it --- and happily went back to sleep about 4:30 am. Today will be a bleary day for me!

I also watched and thought it was SO lovely...maybe Kate's example will start a trend back towards more modest gowns...I surely HOPE SO!! They looked so happy and seem to really love each other...what the word needs is people who really do. (I wish, of course, that they had not lived together first...but hopefully they can do right by each other for the rest of their lives).

I WAS impressed with the service!! And good music is always a joy too! SO nice we could all watch it, isn't it??

Blessings, Elizabeth in NC

The hats are always hilarious! Princess Beatrice's was particularly amusing!

I was struck this morning with how Christ honoring the wedding was, even the 'read' prayers from the prayer book.

One commentator this morning mentioned that Kate's job would be to support her husband! DUH!

Not very soundly...I was up at 5 am to get ready for the homeschool conference! And now I have brought all the children and a sick husband home and I am exhausted! Fortunately for me, Elisabeth always loves an excuse to take over my kitchen, so she rustled up a tray of apples, cheese, graham crackers, baby carrots and cookies, and is hosting a picnic in the front yard. ;)

I enjoyed watching it too and had the same kinds of feelings about the truth of God and how far they have strayed away (much like our own country)as you did. I decided to add them to my prayer list!

The strangest hats where the ones Sarah Ferguson's girls wore! One looked like a bunch of Easter eggs on her head! LOL Very odd!!

Hope you had a blessed day - Julie

In this day and age of "anything goes" and informality, yesterdays wedding was a work of art to behold. The message to the young couple during the wedding seemed heartfelt.I took some time last night and looked through some of the photos of what people wore.It was amazing and amusing :)

I remember getting up early to watch Charles and Diana get married - worth the bleary eyed-ness that followed. I couldn't help but think about Princess Diana and what she would have thought.

Like you, I appreciate the BBCA coverage. They are a bit more refined.

A beautiful wedding and pray that Will and Kate have a long and happy marriage!

I got up to watch it too. It was beautiful. I especially loved her brother reading the scripture on marriage. I'd like to know more about her brother. He read it so perfectly and beautifully. It was really a very spiritual wedding. The whole wedding was a bright spot in a dark world.

What a grand event!!!! Everything was gorgeous, Kate's dress was perfect in everyway! I'm so impressed with her. She seems like she has the poise and all to be a splendid princess and queen. I hope all goes well....It was so much fun to be a part of the day via tv. We watched it twice with two different people -- all with tea and scones. :) My friend from Scotland is visiting us next week and she flew to London on the spur of the moment to be a part of the crowds. Can't wait to hear from her in person about it!!!! My kids are already playing william and kate!!!

I did forget to say how much I loved the service! The hymns, the music, the Scripture reading and the sermon! Wow! if only everyone was really listening....
