Just checking in...

I was gone from home almost all day today beginning with a nice get together with my friend, Linda... stopping by the Goodwill near her house and then near mine on the way home.  We both have mixed emotions about Goodwill, their prices have skyrocketed and we both notice more "less than desirable" items offered then there used to be.  However, you can still find great bargains if you look hard enough.  I found a pair of brand new Florsheim shoes for my husband, he was thrilled with them.

I'll answer the questions in the comments of yesterday's post soon.  If you have written an e-mail in the past few weeks, I'm also behind on answering them.  Every once in awhile... life happens. ;)

Tonight we met Miss M.'s parents and her sister for dinner.  We had such a good time together.  Of course, I already knew I'd like them because Christopher feels so comfortable with them.

Be back soon!

I am happy that you had such a nice time with Miss M's family.

I had an out and about day as well. Found a new herb store - it is a bit of a drive, but not too far from my mom and dad's house.

Got some essential oils, seeds, and gardening gloves.

Sounds like you had a good day, deepening the pantry and deepening the shoe cupboard too!
Glad the meeting with the new family went well, I'm sure anyone would find you very easy to get along with.

Brenda, was one of the questions you were going to answer about the last post comments about how you grind your wheat? What you use etc...would you answer another question please? I have heard it makes a difference to the wheat if the machine used runs hot or not or something to that effect. Do you know anything about this and how does your machine work that way? Also have heard grinding wheat by hand is a longgg process. That the electric grinders are much better. I have no idea about that thought either! As you can tell I know only a bit I have read and will appreciate any solid information you as a user can give us. I also heard a VitaMix can grind wheat berries but wondered if they would get hot from the blade. If getting warm/hot matters that is! :) Sarah

I too have noticed the prices climbing at GoodWill and other thrift shops. I think that more and more people are shopping those places so now the prices are higher and there is less stuff. I have determined that I don't need or want any more decorative junk, etc. and just look for useful items.

I'm so happy for Chris. He's in my prayers.

Goodwill is selling their best items online -- while I have bought a few things -- the cost of shipping makes it not a bargain..!
