If you give a Grammie a cookie

So... why do I not keep cookies in the cookie jar once Christopher moved to campus?
  1. My grandchildren live 1,000 miles away.
  2. My husband is the most disciplined eater I know.
  3. I am not.
He can walk by the cookies and take one... hear me one... cookie... all day.

I have inherited a genetic fault which I know is in the DNA because my daughter has the same defect.

If you give me a cookie, I want another... and another... until I've eaten eight or nine or ten cookies.  Then I start craving real sugar all over again and drive to Wal Mart to buy a half gallon of Edie's Spumoni Ice Cream.

Then my blood sugar is over 300 and I have to go to bed and I don't feel like making dinner so I reach for more cookies since they are handy because they are in the cookie jar.

That's what happens when you give a Grammie a cookie.

NOTE:  My mixer really is that big, it is a Kitchen Aid Professional (I did, at one time, plan on becoming a pastry chef).

Brenda,

You must keep those cookies away then...'cause we want you healthy, happy and posting often. ((Smile))

You and I MUST be related...we seem to have some of the same genes! I can't eat just one either...

Good girl to stay away from those cookies! I envy you your professional Kitchen Aid mixer. It's a beauty!

I have that same condition! ;-)

Brenda, I'm afraid I have that same defect. My mother offered to bake me a cake for my birthday last week, but since there are only three of us at home right now, I declined, knowing who would eat the lion's share of that devil's food cake!

Yes, no cookies are better than a glucose level of +300. Let's just save the baking for when we have company coming. :-)

I find it hard to stay away from homebaked sweets, too. :)

Yep, you have lots of Sister Friends with the same genetic defect! Especially when it comes to craving Ice Cream. Have to adopt the 'Just Say No!' defense - daily! LOL

I am sure we are related. But then, my husband and I must be related genetically, too, because HE IS TRULY THE COOKIE MONSTER...and that is just kinda gross....
Keep away from those cookies!! Maybe you can superglue the lid to the glass canister on those cookie cutters and that will keep you away from them at least.
However, I have recently come to realize that cookie dough is just as good as baked cookies...

I love this post! My husband and I are exactly the same way. We bring home a box of cookies and we each have one. Three days later he goes back for his second, and the jar is empty. Then he looks at me with a little glint in his eye, and says "Where oh where did all the cookies go?" I feign innocence of course, but we both know... When it comes to sweets, I have zero self control.**sigh**

I have a nice big Kitchen Aid, too, but mine is white not red. I adore it in Red!

I have known for awhile now that we must be related since I also am an anglophile, have diabetes, love books, tea and Victoria magazine. My Kitchen-aid is pistachio green and I always eat more cookies than anyone else in the house.

I must have inherited that same gene!
I CAN'T eat just one of anything sweet. My husband can make a bag of M&M's last days, Me, maybe five minutes.
I have been thinking about fall weather and baking chocolate chip cookies, but know I would eat most of them. Sigh.............

I could have the same story, Brenda, except my husband won't even take ONE cookie! It's amazing. Of course, he's skinny and I'm.....not.
