The Patriot's Bible, a review

I've been using this Bible during my quiet times to see how I like it. My Bible I use the most is a Thinline NIV with no extra notes as I tend to get distracted easily and start reading the notes instead of the Word!

However, I do have a nice collection of study Bibles I can go to for in depth study and research. This Bible definitely fits that category.

It's in the easy to read New King James Version. I've enjoyed very much reading that version each morning. The paper used has a "look of parchment", very light so it doesn't distract from the reading but still attractive.

It has special sections about American History and important Americans who have been people of Faith. Within the Scripture, there are special notes if a particular verse was used in American History.

I know a few people who would love this Bible, all homeschool students I've known or taught who have a passion for early American History and/or the political process. People who do not share this passion would find the notes and special features distracting.

Highly recommended for American History buffs. It could be used as an everyday Bible by people who are not easily distracted (like me).

Interesting...I didn't know that such a thing existed! I can see where it would be a blessing for an American history buff.

I thought of another book recommendation for you. Susan Wheeler (a second cousin on my dad's side!) is a wonderful artist. She has illustrated a series of children's books with an author by the name of Kortpeter. The series is Holly Pond Hill. The characters are rabbits all in domestic settings full of rich detail.

This looks like a neat Bible. I love the Bible and I was once upon a time a history major. This sounds great to me. I must check it out. You always find the most interesting things.

Thanks for sharing your review. We plan on learning about American History next fall for homeschooling and that sounds like it would work nicely with our studies!

I was wondering what this was like. Thanks for reviewing it. Although I love theology and Bible study and am a huge history lover, I still had to chuckle at the title when I saw it, wondering just how they came up with it.
