Dish Love

I've been tweaking my china cabinet. :)

Sorry for the dark pictures. If you click on each one, you do get a better glimpse.

Thank you to my dear blog friend who gave me their "old" (very good) camera. I've been able to show you part of my life rather than just describing it.

A comment was left recently, asking if I have a hard time finding matching saucers for my china cups. YES! It's probably my greatest frustration with Goodwill although I find my best prices there when the saucer is on one shelf and the teacup on another.

I only buy the teacups without saucers if I'm going to use them to display in my china cabinet or on the shelves over the windows in my bedroom (pictures can be found in the side bar under Favorites - My Home).

I'll take some pictures of the rest of my collection again when I have better light! In the meantime, here is the picture I took last year...

I'm sure that I spoke of what a nice idea it is to store teacups and saucers in a drawer that way. I must've because that's what drew my eye. That and the fact that you have a Friendly Village plate.

I love my set, which was my paternal grandmother's. They're not being displayed other than being in the kitchen corner cabinet, but I sure enjoy them November through March. They're perfectly suited for cold weather climes. Anyway, I found that by turning my salt and pepper shakers about, one has just a nice green leaf there and not the entire village. Ha!

It is fun to have you able to post photos again. Enjoy that camera and keep it fired up.

I love tea cups too but never seem to find much at our thrift store. Lucky you! Are you from Detroit, MI? We use to live in Pt. Huron. Nancy

Very pretty. I have a small collection of cups and saucers too. It use to be larger, however I gave a number to my oldest daughter.

Beautiful collection Brenda. I have several stacks of saucers without cups. Let me know if you ever take a close up pic of the fronts of your cups. Wouldn't it be something if we had some that match up! I'd gladly ship them to you. I do see a few tea cups sets that we have in common. Most of mine were found at the thrift store or estate sales.

So pretty Brenda! I love how you mix the patterns and they all work together. I've always loved the cups in the drawer - that's such a good idea for storage!

What a great collection. I love tea things . . . but my collection is not as interesting as yours.

So pretty! I have gotten good deals on saucer-less tea cups too. Then I just went to Goodwill and got some plain white or white and gold saucers...Not exactly matching, but not mismatched either!
