Preparing Christmas goodies

We will be meeting my husband's siblings at a Cracker Barrel in a nearby town on Saturday. So, I've been busy in the evenings making everything to put into their Christmas baskets.

This year they will be receiving homemade cocoa mix and miniature marshmallows, Christmas M&Ms, a wonderful pretzel candy, puppy chow, and Rachel Ray's fudge. I'll also include a Christmas mug for each (purchased this past year at Goodwill but both look like they were never used) and a scented candle (purchased on clearance after Christmas last year).

The recipes are on my recipe blog, except the puppy chow. I won't make it until tomorrow so I'll post a picture and the recipe then.

If you haven't tried Rachel Ray's fudge, it is very easy and people enjoy it. Just click on Candy on the side bar of the recipe blog to find it and more easy candy recipes for Christmas.

I'll be adding pictures to "old" recipe posts when possible so for the few people who subscribe to the recipe blog via an rss feed, you'll know what is happening. :)

Oh this will be much appreciated and much enjoyed. My aunt makes us the Corn Chex mix every year and it just wouldn't be the same without it. Have a fun time with your hubby's family on Saturday!

The goodies sound so delicious. I hope they enjoy them. We too are meeting up with family this weekend for some shopping, family time and maybe even some snow!

Thanks for the recipes. I'll be sure to look them up. I'm thinking your puppy chow is what our family calls White trash. It's that Crispix mix with peanut butter and chocolate and powdered sugar, right? Such horrible names, but, oh, so yummy!

Blessings,
Patti

I'll be back for the puppy chow tomorrow. I've tried it a few months back....and since I have all those jars also that I got at the yard sale,,,I need some mixes that will not be too expensive to make and give out as presents,,I'm on my way there right now..Oh, I'm so thankful to God for you!!

Those will be wonderful gift baskets! I'm sure they'll love them. Do you know I've NEVER been to Cracker Barrel and there's one about 20 min away (there used to be a closer one but they closed a few years ago). Everyone always mentions how fun their gift shop is.

My sister and neice and I all make gift baskets for our families to exchange each year. Well, actually, everyone in each family contributes something for each basket. It's become a wonderful tradition, and we each have come up with our specialties that everyone seems to look forward to. I like the idea of cocoa mix, alot!
