An update

I'm literally propped up against my desk this morning with the room continuing to spin around me! What was happening on Friday night was the same thing that sent me to the hospital the last time when a very bad case of flu had hit, causing the first crisis.

Since then we've been working around the clock to get my blood sugars to remain below 300 and to keep me from staying dehydrated (my daughter's suggestion of freezing cans of sugar free lemon lime soda helped a great deal and gave us the idea of buying sugar free Popsicles yesterday). Before that, I couldn't keep anything down.

While still quite ill from the flu, I'm so happy to say my blood sugar levels were down to 146 this morning... which means I'm out of danger! If we couldn't get them controlled, I would have given in and gone to the emergency room despite being uninsured.

I'll be back as soon as the room stops spinning and the nausea subsides. Back to the sofa. I ran a spellcheck but other then that, I'm not responsible for typos. Believe it or not, I'm typing half of this with my eyes shut to keep from getting too dizzy (all those "touch typing" lessons paid off). :)

I could still use your prayers for a quick recovery and no relapse of spiked blood sugars (at nearly 400, they scared even me!).

I will continue to pray for you. Diabetes is serious, as you well know. Relax and chill. I know you are a busy beaver, but your health is more important than dust and the boys will fix meals. God Bless you.

Dear Brenda, I'm still praying for you, but so very happy to hear the good news so far! Keep on recovering. The sugar free popsicles sound great. How about sugar free seven up? Illness, like flu, can do amazing things to our body's ability to manage blood sugar levels, among other things.

Just peeking in...letting you know that you've been on my mind all day long and now as I'm ready to head up over the stairs, I find myself wondering again how it's going. Leaving you in God's hands...always the safest place to be.
