Now this is recycling at its' best

My daughter told me about this last week. Would you believe, these are yogurt containers with seeds in them? My memory of our conversation is a little foggy but I believe a friend told her about this (and gave her the yogurt containers).

I am so proud of her. She has developed the homeschooling mother syndrome. You know when you have arrived... when you start looking at everything in life as an educational moment and you find yourself with books in hand looking up the life cycle of a seed.

Well, I don't know if they went THAT far (we are talking 5 and 6 year olds here) but I wouldn't doubt it at all.

Edited to Add: The containers are Breyers YoCrunch. Stephanie's friend saves them throughout the year for her own family and friends to use as little greenhouses in Spring (which comes late in New England!).

Neat idea, now I'm wondering what brand of yogurt has those nice clear tops? :)

Boy do I understand the planting urge! LOL! All my houseplants right now are are sprouting twigs and snips of things I'd love to grow and hope to root. We'll see. Sometimes it works. I'm doing it all the wrong way and sometimes it STILL works.

Now that is the neatest idea. I taught my little Kaytlunn to plant seed this year, but we used Styrofoam cups. This is a much better idea.
Also thanks for sharing my birthday.

Wow! What a fun learning environment! I think it's great and even though her children are rather young, they *will* remember more than expected. :o)

Here here for lifelong learning environments!
